Washburn moved its winning streak to three games with a 2-0 win over Augustana on Friday in Sioux Falls, S.D. The win was the second straight road win for the Ichabods.

This is the second straight season that the Ichabods have begun the season with three straight victories.

Through three games, Washburn has outscored its opponents 10-3, with seven goals coming in the second half.

After scoring five goals in the second half against William Jewell, the Ichabods continued the scoring streak. In just the second minute of the match, Riley Wells took the ball herself down the middle of the field, shooting and scoring into the left side of the net for her first career goal to make it 1-0.

Each team recorded just four shots in the first half, with two for each side coming on goal.

Washburn defenders Emily Michaelis, Carlee Thompson, Lakin Rold and Taylor Bockover each played all 90 minutes on Friday.

The Ichabods took only six shots in the game, with two by Rold leading the way.

Of Augustana's 11 total shots, six were taken on goal and stopped by Raegan Wells, who recorded her 10th career solo shutout and second of the season.

Following the score two minutes into the match, 75 minutes went by without a goal until Jaedyn Johnson took a shot from the right side and scored into the top left corner of the net to give her three goals in the last two games.

Both goals by Washburn were unassisted.

So far this young season, half of the team's goals have come in that form. The Ichabods have had a player record their first career goal in each of the three games so far after the second-minute goal from Wells.
