After sweeping Tonganoxie on the road Monday, Hayden's girls and boys basketball teams posted their second wins in as many nights on Tuesday, taking a home Centennial League sweep over Junction City.

Hayden's girls, tied for the No. 10 spot in the Kansas Basketball Coaches Association Class 4A rankings, rolled to a 48-21 win over the Blue Jays while Hayden's boys posted a 56-45 win over Junction City.

Hayden's girls, who improved to 11-6 overall and 3-5 in the Centennial League, got 14 points from sophomore Norma Greco while junior Lauren Sandstrom added 11 points and sophomore Brylee Meier 10.

The Hayden boys, now 9-8 overall and 3-5 in the league, got a double-double from senior Joe Otting, who finished with 19 points and 10 rebounds, while senior Jake Muller added 13 points.

Hayden built a 29-21 lead at the half before pulling away down the stretch.

SEAMAN GIRLS 61, LEAVENWORTH 22 -- Seaman, the top-ranked team in Class 5A for the past four weeks, rolled to its 16th win in 17 starts on the season, taking a 61-22 United Kansas Conference road victory at Leavenworth.

The league-leading Vikings improved to 12-1 in the UKC with their 10th straight win, and will be at home Friday with an opportunity to avenge their only loss of the season, a 74-71 overtime loss to Basehor-Linwood.

SEAMAN BOYS 56, LEAVENWORTH 50 -- Despite playing without two starters, Seaman posted its third straight victory, a 56-50 United Kansas Conference road win at Leavenworth.

The Vikings played without senior Kaeden Bonner (injury) and junior Braden Chapman (illness) but were able to outlast the Pioneers as senior Aron Davis led the way with 25 points, including 21 in the second half.

Seaman, 10-7 overall and 7-6 in the UKC, trailed 24-23 at halftime but rallied for a 38-37 lead at the end of the third quarter and outscored Leavenworth 18-13 over the final eight minutes. 

SHAWNEE HEIGHTS GIRLS 39, LANSING 19 -- Shawnee Heights celebrated its Senior Night with a 39-19 United Kansas Conference romp past Lansing.

Shawnee Heights led by just seven points at the half (20-13) before opening up a 31-18 advantage after three quarters and holding the Lions to six points in the second half.

SHAWNEE HEIGHTS BOYS 66, LANSING 54 -- Shawnee Heights, ranked No. 10 in Class 5A by the KBCA, ran its winning streak to five games with Tuesday's 66-54 home United Kansas Conference victory over Lansing.

Shawnee Heights improved to 13-4 overall and 10-3 in the UKC, as junior Brennon Dodge scored 20 points and sophomore Jaret Sanchez added 17.

DE SOTO GIRLS 43, TOPEKA WEST 36 -- Topeka West put up a good fight, but De Soto prevailed for a 43-36 United Kansas Conference win at West.

De Soto improved to 12-6 overall and 10-5 in the UKC while Topeka West fell to 5-13, 4-10.

DE SOTO BOYS 62, TOPEKA WEST 53 -- Playing without senior standouts Sincere Austin and Malachi Berg for undisclosed reasons, Topeka West dropped a 62-53 home decision to United Kansas Conference league-leader De Soto.

Senior Xavier Alexander had a big night for the Chargers in Tuesday's loss, scoring 24 points.

ROSSVILLE GIRLS 62, WABAUNSEE 34 -- Rossville improved to 13-5 overall and 5-4 in the Mid-East League, with a 62-34 road romp past Wabaunsee.

Four Bulldawgs cracked double figures, led by sophomore Shyanne Haehn with 16 points.

Junior Emma Mitchell, freshman Rylee Dick and junior Katie Spielman all added 11 points apiece for the Bulldawgs.

Rossville was never threatened by the Chargers after opening up an 18-6 first-quarter advantage.

The Bulldawgs then hit Wabaunsee with a 21-4 second quarter to build a commanding 39-10 cushion at halftime.

WABAUNSEE BOYS 60, ROSSVILLE 49 -- Rossville held a 16-12 lead at the end of the first quarter, but Wabaunsee outscored the Bulldawgs 22-7 in the second quarter to take control.

Rossville and Wabaunsee fought to a 26-all standoff in the second half but the the Chargers to hold off the Bulldawgs for the double-digit win.

Wabaunsee improved to 12-5 overall and 4-3 in the Mid-East League while Rossville fell to 6-12, 2-6.

CAIR PARAVEL LATIN GIRLS 33, MARANATHA ACADEMY 27 -- Cair Paravel posted its second straight win after dropping eight of its previous nine games.

Cair Paravel improved to 6-12 overall and 3-5 in the Kaw Valley Conference while Maranatha Academy dropped to 2-11 and 1-6.

CAIR PARAVEL LATIN BOYS 48, MARANATHA ACADEMY 45 -- Cair Paravel took a hard-earned 48-45 Kaw Valley Conference win over Maranatha Academy Tuesday night, improving to 8-10 overall and 3-5 in the league.

The Lions have now posted wins in six of their past nine games.
