Washburn University soccer will conclude its non-conference schedule against Fort Hays State on Friday at Yager Stadium (6 p.m. start) before hosting Nebraska-Kearney on Sunday (1 p.m.) in the Ichabods'  first MIAA contest of the season.

Washburn is 5-1-0 on the 2023 season after posting an 11-6-2 record in '22.

Washburn has won four straight matches for the first time since the first four games to open the 2021 season. 

The Ichabods took a 1-0 road win over Emporia State last Friday followed by a 2-1 victory at Nebraska-Kearney on Sunday.

Washburn scored all of its goals in the second half of both matches and did not allow a goal through the first 178 minutes of the weekend. 

Senior Raegan Wells started and won both games in goal last weekend, giving her the Washburn program record with 32 wins as a goalkeeper. She also had six saves.

Anna Muruzabal scored the game-winnint goal against the Hornets last Friday, her third straight match with a goal. 

Washburn Rural product Mackinly Rohn, a freshman, is tied for 15th nationally with .67 assists per match and she is tied for sixth in total assists with four. Among MIAA players she is first in both categories.

Muruzabal is 37th in the nation and third in the conference with nine total points on the year. She is also seventh in the nation in shot accuracy with 80% of shots going on goal.

She leads Washburn in goals with four, doing so in only 175 minutes of action. Eight of her 10 total shots have been on goal, with half of them going for goals. 

Khloe Schuckman has seven points on the year with three goals and one assist in 409 minutes. She leads the Ichabods with 13 total shots taken on the year. 

Aubrey Tanksley has scored two goals on the year on only five total shots, with both goals game-winners.

Washburn Rural grad Belle Kennedy has started all six matches, playing 368 minutes. Kennedy is second on the Ichabods with 12 shots this season.

All 29 players on the Ichabod roster have appeared in at least one match this season 

Fort Hays State is 4-0-2 on the season after a 1-1 draw vs Emporia State while Nebraska-Kearney is 1-5-0 after Sunday's 2-1 loss to Washburn.
