BRODY ANDERSON, Seaman
Anderson, a returning Class 5A state medalist, opened his senior track season with a pair of dominating individual wins in Friday's Topeka High Invitational at Hummer Sports Park. Anderson posted a 24-second win in the boys 1,600 meters in 4 minutes, 23.82 seconds and posted a 36-second win in the 3,200 in 9:27.73.
BRYNN ANDERSON, Washburn Rural
A freshman multi-sport standout for the Junior Blues, the 6-foot Anderson was voted by Centennial League girls basketball coaches as the league newcomer of the year and a first-team all-league pick. Anderson averaged 14.3 points, 4.4 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.5 steals while hitting 41 3-pointers.
CARSYN BROXTERMAN, Hayden
Broxterman, a senior soccer standout for Hayden, scored five goals and had an assist in Friday's season-opening 8-0 road victory over Cair Paravel Latin at the Bettis Family Sports Complex. As a junior Broxterman helped lead the Wildcats to a second-place finish in the Class 4A-1A state tournament.
REAGAN CHAPMAN, Washburn Rural
A senior three-time All-Shawnee County first-team softball honoree, Chapman pitched a five-inning four-hitter last Friday at Hummer Sports Park as the Junior Blues took an 11-1 first-game win over Topeka High in a Centennial League battle between two Class 6A state qualifiers last season. Washburn Rural, second in 6A last spring, took a 7-3 decision over the Trojans in the second game to improve to 4-0 on the season.
SOFIA HARPER, Hayden
Harper, a junior girls track standout for the Wildcats, posted a pair of individual victories in Friday's season-opening Topeka High Invitational track and field meet at Hummer Sports Park. Harper captured the 200-meter dash in 27.00 seconds and the 400 dash in 62.39 seconds.
AHSIEYRHUAJH RAYTON, Topeka High
Rayton, a junior basketball star, was selected as the Centennial League girls player of the year after helping lead Topeka High, 17-9 on the season, to the league championship and a Class 6A state tournament berth. Rayton, also a 6A state medalist in track and field, averaged a city-high 23.6 points, 4.0 rebounds and 3.0 steals for the Trojans.
