Sophomore Taylin Stallbaumer and freshman Anna Becker combined for 36 points Tuesday night as Seaman's girls basketball team posted its fourth straight win, taking a 49-40 Centennial League decision at Manhattan.

Stallbaumer led the Vikings with 21 points while Becker added 15 as Seaman improved to 14-5 overall and 12-4 in the Centennial League.

Manhattan (7-12, 6-9) led 10-8 at the end of the first quarter but the Vikings took control with a 20-5 second quarter, building a 28-15 halftime advantage.

Manhattan outscored Seaman 25-21 in the second half, but it wasn't enough for the Indians to overcome their halftime deficit.

Seaman, ranked No. 6 in Class 5A by the Kansas Basketball Coaches Association, will close out its regular season on Friday at home against No. 4-ranked (5A) Emporia.

WASHBURN RURAL GIRLS 61, JUNCTION CITY 14 -- Washburn Rural, ranked No. 3 in Class 6A, improved to 17-2 overall and 13-2 in the Centennial League with Tuesday's 61-14 league win at Junction City.

Sophomore Zoe Canfield powered Washburn Rural early and finished with 19 points, one of 10 players to crack the scoring column for the Junior Blues.

Canfield was the lone Rural player in double figures as the Junior Blue starters left the game midway through the third quarter. Senior Campbell Bagshaw and sophomore Jada Ingram added eight points each and senior Trenna Whitmore seven points for Rural.

Junction City fell to 2-17, 2-14.

Washburn Rural will finish its regular season at Highland Park on Friday.

EMPORIA GIRLS 39, HAYDEN 21 -- Hayden (10-9, 7-8) had trouble on the offensive end, particulary in the second half, as the Wildcats dropped a 39-21 Centennial League decision at No. 4-ranked (5A) Emporia (15-4, 11-4).

The Wildcats scored just five points in the second half and had only field goal as Emporia rolled to the win.

Senior Gracie Gilpin paced Emporia with 12 points while senior Macy Smith scored six points to lead Hayden.

Hayden will travel to Manhattan on Friday for its regular-season finale.

SILVER LAKE GIRLS 64, ROYAL VALLEY 39 -- Silver Lake sophomore Makenzie McDaniel scored 20 points and grabbed 16 rebounds to lead the way as No. 1-ranked (Class 3A) Silver Lake rolled to a 64-39 win at Royal Valley.

McDaniel was one of three players in double figures for Silver Lake (18-1), with sophomore McKinley Kruger and junior Taylor Ross scoring 15 points apiece.

Silver Lake will be at home Thursday against Wabaunsee to close out the regular season. 

ROCK CREEK GIRLS 44, ROSSVILLE 35 -- Rock Creek (16-4) jumped out in front 13-4 at the end of the opening quarter and led 26-13 at the half.

Rossville (11-9) got back in the hunt with a 16-5 third quarter but the Mustangs outscored the Bulldawgs 13-6 over the final eight minutes to close out the win.

Sophomore Emma Mitchell scored 15 points to lead Rossville, but was the only player with more than six points for the Bulldawgs.

DE SOTO GIRLS 56, SHAWNEE HEIGHTS 50 -- Shawnee Heights, which fell to 9-9 overall and 3-5 in the United Kansas Conference, took a 32-27 lead to the locker room at halftime on the road at De Soto before the Wildcats rallied for the 56-50 win.

De Soto (12-7, 5-4) led 47-40 at the end of the third quarter and held off the T-Birds the rest of the way.

Shawnee Heights is back home to host Turner in a UKC contest Wednesday night and will close out the regular season at Basehor-Linwood on Friday. 

CAIR PARAVEL LATIN GIRLS 45, BISHOP SEABURY 24 -- The Lions improved to 11-7 on the season with a 45-24 romp past Bishop Seabury. 

Cair Paravel will open 1A Division I postseason on Friday, hosting Troy (8-12).
