LANSING (2-2, 2-2 United Kansas Conferance) vs. TOPEKA WEST (0-4, 0-4 United Kansas Conference)

Topeka West fell to 0-4 last week with a 34-0 United Kansas Conference loss to Piper, while Lansing evened its record at 2-2 with a 28-21 UKC win over Seaman. Topeka West has been outscored 217-12 over its first four games, but the Charger defense allowed a season-low 34 points last Friday against Piper.
FRIDAY GAMES
SILVER LAKE (3-1, 0-0 Class 2A District 3) at ROSSVILLE (2-2, 1-0 Class 2A District 3)
Both the Eagles and Bulldawgs tuned up for the storied War on 24 rivalry with big wins last Friday. Silver Lake outlasted Mid-East League foe Rock Creek, 38-35, while Rossville opened Class 2A District 3 play with a 70-0 rout at Atchison County. Friday will be Silver Lake's district opener. Rossville quarterback Camden Horak has completed 61 of 98 passes for 882 yards and nine touchdowns while Tayson Horak has caught 21 passes for 312 yards and two TDs and rushed for 179 yards and a TD on 16 attempts. Top players for Silver Lake include quarterback Tanner Martin, running back Blake Redmond and receiver Eli Barnes.
PERRY-LECOMPTON (1-3, 0-1 Class 3A District 4) at HAYDEN (4-0, 1-0 Class 3A District 4)
Hayden, which has outscored its opposition by a 210-37 margin, stayed red hot with a 64-0 rout win at Jefferson West last Friday to open Class 3A District 4 play. Senior Finn Dunshee has rushed for 630 yards and 10 touchdowns on just 28 carries while junior quarterback Jett Wahlmeier has completed 27 of 47 passes for 474 yards and five TDs and junior Jensen Schrickel has 11 catches for 186 yards and three touchdowns. Perry-Lecompton is coming off a 32-12 loss to Holton.
BURLINGAME (4-0, 1-0 Eight-Man-I District 2) vs. CAIR PARAVEL LATIN (2-2, 0-1 Eight-Man-I District 2)
At Highland Park
Cair Paravel opened Eight-Man Division I District 2 play last week with a 58-30 loss to undefeated Lyndon and the Lions face an undefeated team for the second straight game Friday night. Burlingame is coming off a 53-0 rout over Chase County in the Bearcats' district opener. This will be Cair Paravel's final season in Eight-Man football before the Lions switch to the 11-man ranks next fall.
WICHITA NORTHWEST (3-1) vs. TOPEKA HIGH (1-3)

Topeka High picked up its first win of the 2023 season with a huge second half last Friday night against Emporia at Welch Stadium. The Trojans trailed 10-6 at the half before outscoring the Spartans 35-0 in the second half for a 41-10 Centennial League triumph. Topeka High takes a break from Centennial League play to host Wichita Northwest in a non-league contest Friday night. Northwest is coming off its first loss of the season, a 34-28 loss to Wichita East.
WASHBURN RURAL (4-0, 1-0 Centennial League) at JUNCTION CITY (3-1, 0-0 Centennial League)
Washburn Rural is coming off a huge 35-28 Centennial League win over reigning Class 6A state champion Manhattan and the undefeated Junior Blues face another tough test Friday night against perennial league power Junction City on the road. Junction City will be opening its Centennial League schedule after a 41-7 non-league win over Bishop Carroll last week. Rural senior quarterback Branton DeWeese threw for four touchdowns against Manhattan, including the game-winner to junior Blake Recinos, while the Junior Blues picked off three Manhattan passes, two by junior Wilson Miller and one by junior King Leonard.
HIGHLAND PARK (4-0) at KC-LINCOLN PREP (4-1)
Highland Park is off to a 4-0 start for the second straight season and faces a test Friday night on the road at Kansas City, Mo.-Lincoln Prep, which handed the Scots one of their two regular-season losses a year ago. Highland Park is coming off a 40-6 win over KC-Harmon last Friday while Lincoln Prep took a 28-17 win over Van Horn. Scots quarterback Craig Sipple has completed 26 of 50 passes for 542 yards and seven touchdowns while Amari Taylor has rushed for 324 yards and four TDs on 33 attempts and Jamon Wilson has rushed for 225 yards on 16 attempts and caught five passes for 162 yards and three scores.
SHAWNEE HEIGHTS (3-1, 3-1 United Kansas Conference) at DE SOTO (3-1, 3-0 United Kansas Conference)
After a 3-0 start to the season, Shawnee Heights suffered a 42-14 United Kansas Conference loss at Basehor-Linwood last Friday. De Soto, a perennial UKC and Class 5A state power, is coming off a 50-7 conference romp past Leavenworth. Shawnee Heights running back Allen Baughman returned from an injury against Basehor-Linwood and rushed for 70 yards and two touchdowns on 24 carries. Baughman has 265 yards and four TDs on 65 attempts for the season while quarterback Ryeki Tuley has completed 63 of 105 passes for 812 yards and six TDs. Jayden Moore has caught 25 passes for 334 yards and a TD and Jayden Holly has 21 receptions for 211 yards and two scores.
SEAMAN (2-2) at BLAIR OAKS (4-1)
Seaman will be out to snap a two-game losing streak when the Vikings travel to Jefferson City, Mo. to face Blair Oaks. Seaman dropped a 28-21 United Kansas Conference decision to Lansing last Friday while Blair Oaks is coming off a 56-27 win over Boonville, Mo. Blair Oaks has outscored its first five opponents by 252-93 margin. Seaman quarterback Max Huston has completed 73 of 117 pass attempts for 1,139 yards and 17 touchdowns while Camden Barta has 22 receptions for 452 yards and eight TDs and Holden Finley has 19 catches for 299 yards and five TDs. Jack Bloom has 297 rushing yards and five TDs on 61 attempts.
