Washburn Rural junior wrestling star Easton Broxterman, a returning Class 6A state champion and two-time state finalist, picked up another big victory on Saturday at Bartle Hall in Kansas City, Mo., winning the 132-pound title in the Kansas City Stampede.

Broxterman emerged from a 58-wrestler 132-pound field to capture the championship with a 5-0 decision over Miller Sipes of Staley, Mo.
Broxterman, now 18-1 on the season, helped Washburn Rural finish in a tie for 25th place in the huge tournament field.

Rossville trio reaches milestones in LadyCat Classic
Rossville standout senior wrestlers Keera Lacock, Kendra Hurla and Hailey Horton all celebrated milestone victories in the 37-school LadyCat Classic at Basehor-Linwood.
Lacock, a 115-pounder, and 120-pounder Hurla both reached the 100-win milestone during Saturday's tournament while 155-pounder Horton posted her 100th win by pin in the event.
Lacock won the 115-pound title with a 1 minute, 43-second pin over Tonganoxie's Stella Bailey, her fourth pin of the tournament, while Hurla earned the title in the 120-pound division with a pin over Olathe South's Nicole Redmond at the 3:17 mark of the final, Hurla's third tournament pin.
Both Lacock and Hurla, a three-time state champ, are now 11-0 on the season.
Horton went 4-1 in the tournament to finish third at 155 pounds, with all four or her victories coming by pin.
Washburn Rural junior Molly Spader won the 105-pound title in the LadyCat Classic with a 4-0 win over Shawnee Heights sophomore Connie Burns while Seaman junior Koti Best claimed the 130-pound championship, recording a pin in 1:26 over Dodge City's Ariana De La Rosa in the final.
Spader improved to 12-2 on the season while Best improved to 10-0 with nine pins.
Shawnee Heights posted a second-place team finish in the tournament with 145 points, with Burns one of three T-Birds to post top-three finishes in their weight classes.
Heights junior Reece Taylor finished third at 125 pounds while T-Bird junior Isabel Reyes was third at 130.
Washburn Rural placed fourth as a team (111 points) while Seaman finished fifth (102) and Rossville 10th (89).
Dodge City won the team title with 173.5 points.
Seaman's Reno wins Johnson County Classic title
Seaman senior Hunter Reno earned the 215-pound championship in the 25-school Johnson County Classic, improving to 17-1 on the season.
Reno capped his title run with a 2-1 decision over Derby's Mason Hopper.
Seaman also got a third-place finish from Gabe Brannick at 157 pounds while Shawnee Heights got third-place finishes from Andrew Bonebrake at 138 pounds and Allen Baughman at 175.
Seaman finished fifth as a team with 327.5 points while Shawnee Heights placed 11th with 268 points.
Free State won the team championship with 405.5 points.
Trojan duo wins titles at Emporia
Topeka High sophomore Rehabiah Williamson and junior Nick Davis both earned individual championships in the Emporia Winter Classic, leading the Trojans to a fourth-place team finish.
Williamson, 14-2 on the season, won the 150-pound title with a pin over Wamego's Thomas McIntyre while Davis, 13-2, won the 165-pound title with a pin over Emporia's Tayten Ervin.
The Trojans also got a third-place finish from sophomore 113-pounder Luis Morones.
Emporia won the team championship with 233 points while High was fourth, Highland Park 15th and Topeka West 17th.
Twelve city wrestlers post top-three finishes at Atchison County
Twelve wrestlers from Washburn Rural, Topeka High and Topeka West combined to post top-three finishes in the Atchison County Girls Invitational, led by Rural senior Jadyn Reynolds, who won the 105-pound title.
Rural, which tied for third as a team, got second-place finishes from seniors Maddie O'Brien (145), Raya Eilert (155) and Autumn Sanchez (170) while Kailee Atteberry (115) and Eve Luea (235) finished third.
Topeka High, which finished fifth as a team, got second-place finishes from Ingrid Cabrera (100) and Zazie Hadou (130) and thirds from Abigail Culbertson (105) and Zoe Dawkins (120).
Topeka West was led by runnerup Nacola Williams (235) and third-place Ziona Jackson (135).
