Fort Hays (7-8 overall, 0-3 MIAA) struggled with its command on the mound to start the game and after recording the first out, walked three-consecutive batters to load the bases. Ike Book knocked in the first run on the first pitch of his at bat with an infield single to give the Ichabods a 1-0 advantage in the first.

Washburn (9-7, 3-0) extended its lead to 3-0 in the fourth inning with RBI singles from Otto Jones and Cal Watkins

Eaton Bruce led off the fifth with a solo home run to right field to push the Ichabod advantage to 4-0.

The Tigers spoiled the shutout in the bottom of the sixth with an unearned run to make it 4-1.

Charlie Kiefer pitched a scoreless seventh inning and Chase Torkelson finished out the last two frames, allowing only a single and two walks.

The Ichabods out hit the Tigers, 10-7. Book was 3 for 5 with an RBI and stolen base. Bruce finished the day 2-4 with a home run, double, and a walk. Jones finished with a hit, RBI, and run scored.

Torkelson improved to 2-1 after throwing the last two scoreless innings.

Washburn starter Jack Brimacombe went four innings and did not allow a run on four hits and six walks while striking out five.
