Washburn Rural's 2014 team, which capped an undefeated season with a dominating performance in the Class 6A state tournament, was tapped for the No. 1 spot on TopSports.news Best of the Best girls golf Top 10.

Jared Goehring's Junior Blues won the '14 6A state championship, played at Topeka Country Club, by a 19-stroke margin over Shawnee Mission East (331-350) to cap their perfect season.

Washburn Rural put five players in the top 14 places individually, led by third-place Carly Rasmussen.

Haley Flory posted a fifth-place individual finish while Abby Glynn finished seventh, Anna Eichten eighth and Sam Mitchell tied for 14th.

Washburn Rural, which has won five state championships, also earned the No. 2 ranking in the Top 10, with individual state champ Megan Lucas leading the '16 Junior Blues to a 13-stroke 6A state win.

Hayden's 2009 team, one of the Wildcats' five Class 4A championship teams, holds down the third spot on the Top 10 list while Rural's '05 squad and Hayden's '08 team round out the top five.

Brooke LaRue, Lauren Falley, and Morgan Trobaugh went one-two-five to lead the '09 Wildcats to a 63-stroke team win while Rural's '05 team won the 6A-5A title behind top-three finishes from Abbey Weddle and Adin Stromgren and individual 4A champ Lauren Falley led Hayden to an 18-stroke win in the '08 state tournament. 

Washburn Rural's '13 team is ranked No. 6 on the Best of the Best list, followed by the '18 Hayden, '17 Rural, '17 Hayden and '13 Hayden teams to finish out the Top 10.

Washburn Rural's '14 team also earned the No. 1 spot in Reader's Choice balloting, followed by Rural's '05 team, Hayden's '08 squad and a tie for fourth between Hayden's '18 team and Rural's '17 state champs.

1. Washburn Rural (2014) -- Jared Goehring's Junior Blues won the Class 6A state championship, played at Topeka Country Club, by a 19-stroke margin over Shawnee Mission East (331-350) to cap an undefeated season. 2. Washburn Rural (2016) -- Washburn Rural won the Class 6A state title by 13 strokes over Shawnee Mission East (337-350), led by individual champion Megan Lucas, who shot a 79. Abby Glynn placed sixth and Ady Crough eighth.

3. Hayden (2009) -- Dan Key's Wildcats rolled to the Class 4A state crown by 63 strokes over Concordia as Brooke LaRue (75) and Lauren Falley posted a one-two individual finish and Morgan Trobaugh finished fourth.

4. Washburn Rural (2005) -- Jeff Stromgren's Junior Blues won the Class 6A-5A state team title by two strokes over Manhattan (345-347) as Abbey Weddle finished second and Adin Stromgren third, with both players carding 79s.

5. Hayden (2008) -- Lauren Falley shot a 79 to win the individual title as Denis Stanley's Wildcats won the Class 4A crown by 18 strokes (354-372) over Andover. Brooke LaRue finished fourth and Morgan Trobaugh fifth. 

6. Washburn Rural (2013) -- Jared Goehring's Washburn Rural team earned the Class 6A championship by 14 strokes ove Maize (339-353) as Haley Flory finished fifth, Sam Mitchell sixth and Anna Eichten seventh.

7. Hayden (2018) -- Dan Key's Hayden team put three players in the top 10 on the way to a 13-stroke victory (331-344) over Andale. Caroline Setter finished fourth (75), Katye Vausbinder fifth (79) and Sarah Carson tied for 10th.
8. Washburn Rural (2017) -- Abby Glynn posted a runneup individual finish (72) to lead Jared Goehring's Washburn Rural team to the Class 6A state title by eight strokes over Shawnee Mission East (327-335). Megan Lucas finished 10th and Ady Crough 11th.

9. Hayden (2017) -- Caroline Setter shot a 76 to win the individual title as Dan Key's Wildcats won the Class 4A title by six strokes (346-352) over Andale. Katye Vausbinder finished seventh and Samantha Blenden ninth for Hayden.

10. Hayden (2013) -- Hayden won the Class 4A championship by 14 strokes (374-388) over Goodland as Madison Rezac finished sixth and Claire Setter ninth for the Wildcats.
