Topeka High senior standout Madeline Deters captured her first Centennial League tennis championship Tuesday at Junction City, pacing city players in the league meet.

Deters won the singles championship with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Emporia's Kali Keough in the title match.
Hayden freshman Lena Hull finished fourth in singles, dropping a 6-1, 6-2 decision to Junction City's Hannah Micheel in the third-place match while Wildcat senior Grace Funk finished fifth with a 6-3, 6-0 win over Manhattan's Sally Kastner.
Hayden's Sophia Wichman and O'Bray finished third in doubles, taking a 6-4, 6-2 win over Topeka High's Ava Ritter and Hailey Caryl in the third-place match.
Emporia won the league team championship by a 33-28 margin over Hayden and Manhattan, who tied for second place.
Topeka High finished fifth as a team with 24 points while Washburn Rural, playing a split squad, was sixth with 17 points.
Topeka High and Washburn Rural will both compete in a Class 6A regional Friday at Wichita while Hayden will compete in a 4A regional Friday and Saturday at Marysville.
