As we get closer to the top of the women's selections for TopSports.news' Shawnee County All-Time Top 100 list, the list of achievements get more and more impressive.
The latest group of picks (No. 31 through 40) include an individual national champion, six All-Americans, a four-time state high school champ, a two-sport Division I standout, a multi-event state high school record-holder and a three-sport prep All-Stater.
Former Miss Kansas Basketball Carly Bachelor of Washburn Rural led the Junior Blues to a state basketball title and also earned All-State recognition in volleyball and soccer while fellow Rural alum Madeline Hill won a national tennis title for Washburn University and Junior Blues Kelsey Chipman and Jayme Gergen established themselves as two of the school's all-time volleyball greats.
Rossville's Kendra Hurla, the second youngest Top 100 pick, captured four state titles and a team championship as a high school wrestler while former Seaman star Camryn Turner has earned All-Big 12 honors and helped Kansas advance to three straight NCAA volleyball tournaments with a season remaining for the Jayhawks.
Topeka West alum Emily Dicus made her mark as one of Kansas' all-time best swimmers before going on to earn college All-America honors while Shawnee Heights grad Deana Alexander was a Dvision I athlete in both basketball and track and field for Wichita State, winning four javelin Missouri Valley javelin titles, former Topeka High star Kristie Bahner was a 1,000-point scorer for Kansas State basketball, and three-time state softball champ Jaycee Ginter of Shawnee Heights ended her college career as Washburn's all-time leader in multiple categories.

31. CARLY BACHELOR, Washburn Rural
Bachelor earned All-State recognition in volleyball, basketball and soccer for the Junior Blues, leading Rural to the Class 6A state basketball title and earning Miss Kansas Basketball honors as a senior in 2019 and finishing as the school record-holder in career points (1,776) and rebounds (953). Bachelor helped Rural finish second in '18 and '19 in 6A soccer and was named the Centennial League and co-6A defensive soccer player of the year in '19 while also earning All-City and All-6A honors and was a multi-time All-City, All-Centennial League and All-6A selection in volleyball. Bachelor went on to play Division I basketball at Creighton, playing in two NCAA tournaments and scoring a career-high 23 points.

32. KELSEY CHIPMAN, Washburn Rural
Chipman starred in volleyball at Washburn Rural and Kansas State, helping lead Rural to its first-ever Class 6A championship in 2004 (41-3 record) and was named the Kansas Gatorade Player of the Year and 6A State Player of the Year. She was a 6A All-State first-team selection in 2004 and 2005. Chipman was also named to the 6A All-State team in basketball and was part of the state runnerup team in 2003 and received multiple All-City and All-Centennial League honors in volleyball and basketball. Chipman is a member of the Kansas Volleyball Association, Washburn Rural and Topeka Shawnee County halls of fame. Chipman was a four-year starter for Kansas State (2006-2009) and set the KSU record for the most career blocks (518) and solo career blocks (463). She was an All-Big 12 Conference selection in 2009.
33. JAYME GERGEN, Washburn Rural
Gergen starred at Washburn Rural as a three-sport athlete before going on to become a three-year starter, an All-ACC pick and an All-American at Georgia Tech, where she graduated in 2005. Gergen helped lead the Yellow Jackets to four straight NCAA Tournament appearances, three Atlantic Coast Conference regular-season titles and one ACC Tournament Championship. As a senior she ranked first in the ACC and 11th in the nation in hitting percentage (.393). She finished her career ranked second on the Georgia Tech career hitting percentage list (.353). Following her college career Gergen played professionally.

34. CAMRYN TURNER, Seaman
Turner was a volleyball and basketball star for Seaman and is a volleyball star for Kansas, helping the Jayhawks reach three straight NCAA tournaments. Turner finished her volleyball career at Seaman as the all-time leader in kills (1,316) and assists (1,433) and recorded 1,065 digs. Turner was named the Big 12 Setter of the Year for Kansas last season and was second-team All-Big 12 in 2022. Turner was first-team All-Region and an honorable mention All-American last fall, appearing in all 111 sets and leading the Jayhawks with 1,184 assists while finishing second on the team in digs (327) and aces (24).

35. DEANA ALEXANDER, Shawnee Heights
The former Shawnee Heights basketball and track and field star also played multiple sports at the Division I level, playing basketball and throwing the javelin for Wichita State, winning four Missouri Valley javelin titles. Alexander's career-best throw of 176 feet, 10 inches with the old javelin set a Shocker and MVC record. A two-time All-American in track and runner-up finisher in the javelin at the 1993 Pan-American Games, Alexander is a member of the WSU Hall of Fame and also was named to the MVC All-Century track team. Alexander finished her college career with the Shocker women’s basketball record for 3-point field goal percentage (39.2 percent).

36. KENDRA HURLA, Rossville
Hurla was a four-time Class 4A-1A state champion for Rossville in wrestling and led the Bulldawgs to the school’s first-ever state wrestling team championship as a senior. Hurla posted a career wrestling record of 127-3 while compiling more than 100 career pins and capped her high school career with a 38-0 record as a senior. Hurla compiled a 4.0 grade point average and also competed in volleyball, track, cheer and dance. Hurla will cheer at Washburn University.

37. KRISTIE BAHNER, Topeka High
Bahner was a two-time All-City pick in volleyball and a three-time All-City selection in basketball for Topeka High and earned All-State basketball honors in 1987 for the Trojans before going on to score 1,017 points at Kansas State. Bahner also finished among the Kansas State all-time leaders in career blocked shots and rebounds, posting 15 career double-doubles and career-highs of 29 points (vs. Oklahoma) and 17 rebounds (vs. Clemson). Bahner averaged 18.3 points and 10 rebounds for High basketball as a senior.

38. MADELINE HILL, Washburn Rural
Hill won a Class 6A state singles title in tennis for Washburn Rural in 2012 and earned top-four state finishes all four years of her high school career while posting a 100-7 career record. Hill went on to play Division I tennis at Southern Illinois-Edwardsville, playing in the NCAA Championships, before transferring to Washburn where she won an NCAA Division II national championship. Posted an overall record of 36-2 in singles and 27-6 in doubles for the Ichabods, earning MIAA Player of the Year honors.

39. EMILY DICUS, Topeka West
Dicus set seven school swimming records and four Class 5A-1A state records (100-yard freestyle, 200 free, 100 butterfly, 100 backstroke) at Topeka West, earning 5A-1A Swimmer of the Year honors in 2011, before becoming a multiple-time All-American at Virginia. Dicus won an ACC championship in the 800 free relay and ended her college career ranked in the top 10 on Virginia's career list in multiple events. Dicus was a 2012 Olympic Trials qualifier in the 100 and 200 freestyle.

40. JAYCEE GINTER, Shawnee Heights
Ginter helped lead the T-Birds to three straight Class 5A state championships before going on to earn first-team All-MIAA honors four straight seasons for Washburn University as a pitcher/utility player. Ginter was a two-time NCAA All-American, earning first-team honors as a sophomore, and helped WU reach multiple NCAA tournaments. Played in 209 games for Washburn and went 85-29 in the circle with 791 career strikeouts. Ginter had 204 career hits with 166 RBI and 28 home runs, 37 doubles and 116 runs scored. Ginter is WU's career leader in wins and strikeouts.
