ELI BARNES, Silver Lake
Barnes, a senior wide receiver/defensive back, was a TopSports.news All-Shawnee County Top 22 and All-Mid-East League selection in 2022. Barnes caught 39 passes for 670 yards (17.2 yards per catch) and five touchdowns for the 6-3 Eagles. Barnes also picked off a pair of passes for Silver Lake and recovered a pair of fumbles on the year.
CALLEN BARTA, Seaman
A 6-foot-3, 180-pound senior wide receiver/defensive back, Barta earned All-Shawnee County Second 22 and All-United Kansas Conference second-team recognition at receiver last fall for the 4-4 Vikings. Barta caught 41 passes for 406 yards and three touchowns and was in on 26 tackles with two interceptions. Barta has made an oral commitment to Nebraska.
ALLEN BAUGHMAN, Shawnee Heights
A senior running back, Baughman was named the TopSports.news Shawnee County co-offensive newcomer of the year in 2022 after rushing for 1,496 yards and 20 touchowns on 225 carries for the 5-5 T-Birds. Baughman, a first-team All-United Kansas Conference pick, rushed for more than 100 yards in seven games, including 284-yard and 222-yard performances.
PACKSON BETTIS, Washburn Rural
Bettis, a 6-foot-3, 235-pound senior defensive end, recorded 61 tackles (38 solos) with 10 sacks, 13 tackles for loss, 12 quarterback pressures and a forced fumble to help lead Washburn Rural to an 8-3 record and the third round (sectional) of the 6A Class 6A playoffs last fall. Bettis received All-Shawnee County Top 22 and first-team All-Centennial League first-team honors. Bettis has made an oral commitment to North Dakota.
JACK BLOOM, Seaman
Bloom, a 6-foot, 185-pound senior running back/defensive back, was an All-Shawnee County Second 22 selection last fall and earned All-United Kansas Conference second-team honors on defense for 4-4 Seaman. Bloom carried the ball 81 times for 483 yards and seven touchdowns and caught 10 passes for 133 yards and a touchdown. On defense Bloom was in on 20 tackles with an interception.
JESIAH BONURA, Cair Paravel Latin
Bonura, a senior, received TSN All-Shawnee County honorable mention for the 3-5 Lions last season and will be counted on to provide leadership for Cair Paravel. Bonura caught 40 passes for 400 yards and five touchdowns in 2022 and carried the ball 37 times for 250 yards and two touchdowns. Bonura was in on 23.5 tackles, with 3.5 stops for loss.
IAN BRIAN, Cair Paravel Latin
Brian, a senior, will be counted on to play a major role for the Cair Paravel Latin defense this fall as the Lions look to improve on last season's 3-5 record in their second season competing as a full-fledged KSHSAA member.
ADRIAN BURNEY, Highland Park
A 6-foot-2, 220-pound junior offensive and defensive lineman, Burney is a top returner in the trenches for Highland Park, earning All-Shawnee County honorable mention last season as the Scots snapped an eight-year losing streak and put together a breakout 6-3 season. Burney was a second-team All-Meadowlark Conference pick on offense and defense.
BROCK BUSH, Rossville
A junior linebacker, Bush received second-team All-Mid League recognition and All-Shawnee County honorable mention last season as a sophomore after helping the Bulldawgs post a 5-5 record on the heels of back-to-back Class 2A state championships.
BJ CANADY, Topeka High
Canady, a 6-7, 245-pound senior, fought through an injury-plaqued junior season and enters his final year as a Trojan as a Division I prospect. Canady is expected to retun to the quarterback position on offense this fall and is also an experienced defensive end for Topeka High, playing varsity since his freshman year. Canady received All-Shawnee County honorable mention in 2022.
RYKAN CARVER, Shawnee Heights
Carver, a senior lineman, earned second-team All-United Kansas Conference recognition and All-Shawnee County honorable mention last season for the 5-5 T-Birds. Also a 285-pound wrestling standout, Carver is entering his third season as a starter on the Shawnee Heights offensive line and recorded 18 tackles and a sack on defense last fall.
CARTER CHARVAT, Hayden
A 6-foot-2, 225-pound offensive center and defensive lineman, Charvat was a TSN All-Shawnee County Second 22 pick last fall after helping the Wildcats post a 10-2 record and advance to the Class 3A state semifinals.
BRANTON DeWEESE, Washburn Rural
DeWeese, a 6-foot, 185-pound senior, was named to the TopSports.news' All-Shawnee County Top 22 for the second straight season after completing 143 of 234 pass attempts for 1,884 yards and 25 touchdowns for the 8-3 Junior Blues. A second-team All-Centennial League selection, DeWeese had a 61 percent completion rate while also rushing for 253 yards and six TDs on 61 attempts..
ALEX DITTMAN, Shawnee Heights
A senior linebacker, Dittman received second-team All-United Kansas Conference honors and TSN All-Shawnee County honorable mention last fall after helping the T-Birds post a 5-5 record. A three-year starter, Dittman was in on 70 tackles last season, with three tackles for loss, two sacks and an interception.
FINN DUNSHEE, Hayden
Dunshee, a 5-foot-10, 185-pound running back/outside linebacker, rushed for 1,150 yards on 96 attempts and scored 17 total touchdowns for the 10-2 Wildcats, who advanced to the sub-state round of the Class 3A playoffs. The all-county co-offensive newcomer of the year, Dunshee caught 10 passes for 207 yards and had five kickoff returns for 231 yards. Dunshee scored on offensive, defense and special teams for Hayden.
CADEN ESTRADA, Washburn Rural
A 6-foot-2, 270-pound junior offensive tackle, Estrada earned first-team All-Centennial League recognition last season after helping Washburn Rural post an 8-3 record and also received All-Shawnee County honorable mention.
SIMON EVERHART, Cair Paravel Latin
Everhart, a senior, was a solid contributor on both sides of the ball for the 3-5 Lions before suffering a season-ending injury at midseason. Everhart caught 17 passes for 190 yards and four touchdowns prior to his injury.
CHRISTIAN GONZALES, Shawnee Heights
A senior defensive lineman, Gonzales received All-United Kansas Conference first-team honors last season after helping Shawnee Heights post a 5-5 record and was a TSN All-Shawnee County Second 22 pick. Gonzales was in on 53 tackles last fall and is entering his third season as a starter for the T-Birds.
JAREN HEIM, Washburn Rural
A 6-foot-1, 215-pound senior outside linebacker, Heim received All-Centennial League first-team honors at defensive back last season after helping the Junior Blues post an 8-3 record and reach the third round of the Class 6A state playoffs. Heim received All-Shawnee County honorable mention.
JC HEIM, Washburn Rural
Heim, a 6-3, 215 senior outside linebacker, was in on 73 tackles (48 solos) with 15 tackles for loss, five sacks, seven quarterback pressures, five forced fumbles, three recovered fumbles (one for a touchdown) and three blocked punts to help lead Washburn Rural to an 8-3 record and the sectional round of the 6A playoffs. Heim was a first-team TSN All-Shawnee County Top 22 pick and first-team All-Centennial League selection last fall.
CAMDEN HORAK, Rossville
Horak received TSN All-Shawnee County honorable mention last season in his first season as the Bulldawgs' starting quarterback, completing 91 of 164 pass attempts for 1,260 yards and 14 touchdowns while throwing only four interceptions. Horak rushed for 844 yards and 10 touchdowns on 151 attempts.
MAX HUSTON, Seaman
Huaton, the Vikings' junior quarterback, received TSN All-Shawnee County honorable mention last season after helping the Vikings post a 4-4 record. Huston completed 106 of 176 pass attempts for 1,248 yards and 12 touchdowns while rushing for 418 yards and seven touchdowns on 85 attempts.
ISAIAH KINCADE, Topeka High
A 6-foot, 195-pound senior running back/defensive back,, Kincade earned All-Centennial League first-team recognition at defensive back last season and received All-Shawnee County honorable mention for the 1-8 Trojans.
JUDE KONRADE, Hayden
A 6-foot, 195-pound senior, Konrade was a standout linebacker for the Wildcats in the 2022 season, helping Hayden post a 10-2 record and reach the Class 3A sub-state round, Konrade received All-Shawnee County honorable mention last fall.
JAMOND LANE, Washburn Rural
Lane, a 6-foot, 282-pound senior defensive end, was named the Shawnee County defensive newcomer of the year last fall and received All-Shawnee County Second 22 and All-Centennial League second-team recognition. Lane was the Class 6A runnerup in the discus this past spring in track and field.
BARRETT LIETZ, Rossville
A 6-foot, 235-pound senior, Lietz was a standout on both sides of the ball for the 5-5 Bulldawgs at offensive guard and defensive end last fall after playing a key role for Rossville's Class 2A state championship team in 2021. An All-Shawnee County Top 22 and first-team All-Mid-East selection, Lietz was in on 35 tackles last season with six sacks and six tackles for loss.
TANNER MARTIN, Silver Lake
Martin, a senior quarterback, completed 134 of 228 pass attempts (58.8 percent) for 2,175 yards and 16 touchdowns as Silver Lake posted a 6-3 record last season. An All-Mid-East League first-team honoree, Martin also rushed for 542 yards and eight TDs on 116 carries and contributed three sacks, three forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries on defense.
JAYDEN MOORE, Shawnee Heights
Moore, a 5-foot-11, 165-pound wide receiver/defensive back, was a first-team All-United Kansas Conference all-purpose pick and received TSN All-Shawnee County Second 22 recognition for the 5-5 T-Birds. Beginning his third season as a starter at receiver, Moore caught 19 passes for 188 yards in '22 while registering 25 tackles and picking off three passes on defense.
JAYDEN NORMAN, Topeka High
A 6-foot, 180-pound junior receiver, Norman was a second-team All-Centennial League pick last season as a sophomore and was a Second 22 All-Shawnee County selection, catching 61 passes for 879 yards and five touchdowns for the 1-8 Trojans.
TITAN OSBURN, Washburn Rural
A 6-foot-2, 175-pound senior wide receiver, Osburn had a breakout season for the 8-3 Junior Blues, catching 32 passes for 668 yards and 12 touchdowns while averaging 21.1 yards per catch. A TSN All-Shawnee County Top 22 pick and first-team All-Centennial League selection, Osburn helped Washburn Rural win a pair of playoff games to reach the sectional round of the 6A playoffs.
BLAKE REDMOND, Silver Lake
A senior running back/defensive back, Redmond is a top returner for a Silver Lake team that posted a 6-3 record last season. Redmond received All-Shawnee County honorable mention in 2022 as well as second-team All-Mid-East League honors despite missing considerable time with an injury, rushing for 387 yards and seven touchdowns on 51 carries.
KYRECE ROBINSON, Topeka West
Robinson, a 6-2, 245 senior offensive and defensive lineman, will be counted on to provide leadership for the Chargers in the trenches this season after earning second-team All-United Kansas Conference defensive recognition and TSN All-Shawnee County honorable mention last fall.
JENSEN SCHRICKEL, Hayden
Schrickel, a 5-foot-9, 155-pound junior, was a standout on offense, defense and special teams for the 10-2 Wildcats, who made it to the Class 3A sub-state round. Schrickel caught 35 passes for 686 yards, carried the ball 10 times for 182 yards, kicked two field goals and 31 of 33 extra points, had three punt returns for 124 yards and four kickoff returns for 126 yards. A Top 22 All-Shawnee County honoree, Schrickel scored 18 total touchdowns.
EVAN WILL, Cair Paravel Latin
Will, a senior, will be counted on heavily for a Cair Paravel team that will be looking to make major strides this fall after a 3-5 season last fall. Will received TSN All-Shawnee County honorable mention in 2022 after completing 90 of 132 passes for 965 yards and 20 touchdowns. Will had 354 rushing yards on 67 attempts and scored 11 total touchdowns. Defensively, Will was in on 21.5 tackles with 4.5 tackles for loss and an interception.
JAMON WILSON, Highland Park
A 5-foot-10, 170-pound junior running back/defensive back, Wilson will be counted on to help take up the slack left by the graduation of a banner senior class that led the Scots to a 6-3 record last season. Wilson rushed for 393 yards and caught 10 passes for 116 yards, scoring five touchdowns and five 2-point conversions on the 2022 season.
