Topeka High's girls basketball team stretched its winning streak to 34 games, including 11 wins this season, with a 75-39 romp past Leavenworth Saturday afternoon at High.

Making a quick turnaround after a 79-50 win over Kapaun Mt. Carmel Friday at Newton, Topeka High opened up a 22-12 first-quarter lead over the Pioneers and put the game away by halftime, taking a 45-19 lead to the locker room at the half.

The Trojans increased their advantage to 71-31 by the end of the third quarter and a running clock was used throughout the fourth quarter.

Junior NiJaree Canady, who was honored prior to the game for reaching the 1,000-point career scoring milestone earlier this season, scored a game-high 25 points, including 17 in the first half.

Sophomore Kiki Smith added 15 points for the Trojans, who won for the third time in as many days, starting the stretch with a win over Shawnee Heights on Thursday.

Senior Aleshia Jones led Leavenworth (6-6) with 16 points.

Canady scored 29 points in Friday's win over Kapaun Mt. Carmel while Kiki Smith had 21 points and Jae'Mya Lyons 9.

The Trojans put Kapaun away with a 41-23 first half and led 56-34 at the start of the fourth quarter.
