Hayden senior Isabella Valdivia captured the individual title to lead the Wildcats to the girls team championship in Wednesday's Hayden bowling triangular at Gage Bowl.

Valdivia bowled a 506 three-game series to claim individual honors while Hayden earned the team title by a 1,720-1,508 margin over Ottawa. Highland Park was third with a 1,462 team score.

Hayden also got third and fourth-place from senior Grace Moran (416) and junior Kayla Simons (409) while Highland Park’s Alaura Austin was fifth (391).

Hayden senior Aaron Thomas, a returning state qualifier, was second in the boys division with a 593 series while the Wildcats took second as a team by a 2,298-2,260 margin to Ottawa. The Cyclones' Quinton Carver was the individual champ with a 669 series.

Juniors Emilio Gutierrez (552) and Camden Schrickel (532) placed fourth and fifth for the Wildcats.

JUNIOR BLUES SWEEP AT MANHATTAN

Washburn Rural turned in a dominating showing in Wednesday's Manhattan triangular at the Little Apple Lanes, sweeping the team and individual titles.

Rural senior Hannah Casto won the girls individual title with a 636 series to lead a one-two-three individual finish for the Junior Blues, who won the team title by a 2,276-2,014 margin over host Manhattan, while Junior Blue sophomore Josh Hammons won the boys title by a scant two pins with a 637 series as Rural edged Manhattan 2,372-2,344 for the team crown.

Rural junior Kaitlyn Doyal finished second behind Casto in the girls division with a 621 series while sophomore Amaya Buchanan was third with a 536.

In addition to Hammons' title, the Rural boys got a seventh-place finish from sophomore Geo Itzep (572), an eighth from senior Sam Shonka (563) and a ninth-place finish from senior Jacob Morgan (562).
