Washburn Rural, which dominated the city boys swimming championships, earned nine of 13 spots on the 2020-21 All-City team, based on performances in the city meet.

The Junior Blues, who won nine of 12 events in the city meet, are represented on the All-City team by seniors Keats Larson, Yeager Larson and Marquel Russell, juniors Dagen Clouse, Jalen Eilert and Nathen Trachta, sophomore Cordell Dimick and freshmen Brogan Meier and William Powell.

Clouse, Keats and Yeager Larson, Russell and Trachta were all All-City first-team repeaters.

City runner-up Hayden put seniors Hudson Ramirez and Aidan Zulueta on the All-City team, while Shawnee Heights is represented by sophomore Luke Perkins, a triple gold medalist in the city meet, and Topeka High by sophomore Perry Payne.

Seaman was unable to compete as a team in the city meet due to COVID-19 protocols, with senior diver Patrick Biggs, a second-team pick, the lone Viking to earn All-City recognition.

Joining Biggs on the All-City second team are seniors Ethan Emmons, Colton O'Bray and Ethan Spindler, junior Cole Scheer and sophomore Eli Wahlmeier of Hayden, sophomore Jacob Dressler and senior Eden Schimmel of Shawnee Heights, freshman Lincoln Carter and junior Trip Carter of Topeka High and freshman Jack Miranda of Washburn Rural.

All-City capsules:

DAGEN CLOUSE, Washburn Rural -- A junior who earned All-City honors for the third straights season, Clouse captured four gold medals in both the city and Centennial League meets, sweeping individual titles in the 50-yard freestyle and 100 free and swimming on the Junior Blues' winning 200 and 400 free relays. Clouse went on to become a 6A state placer for the third straight season, finishing sixth in the 50 free and helping Rural's 200 free relay post a seventh-place finish

CORDELL DIMICK, Washburn Rural -- Dimick, a sophomore, was the city champion in the 100-yard breaststroke and also placed third in the 200 individual medley. Dimick also swam on the Junior Blues' second-place 200 medley relay team at city before taking third in both the 100 breast and 200 individual medley in the Centennial League meet en route to earning all-league first-team honors.

JALEN EILERT, Washburn Rural -- The Washburn Rural junior was the runner-up in the 200 individual medley in the city meet and also finished third in the 100 butterfly. Eilert also swam on the Junior Blues' 200 medley relay team that finished second in the city meet as Washburn Rural ran away with the city team championship.

KEATS LARSON, Washburn Rural -- A senior, Larson finished second in both the 50 and 100 freestyle events in the city and Centennial League meets. Larson also swam on the Junior Blues' championship 200 and 400 free relays in both the city and league meets. A first-team All-Centennial League selection, Larson swam on the Junior Blues' 200 free relay team that finished seventh in the 6A state meet.

YEAGER LARSON, Washburn Rural -- Larson, a senior, won the 200 free relay in the city meet and swam on the Junior Blues' champion 200 and 400 free relays. Larson also finished second in the 500 free. Larson finished second in the Centennial League meet in the 200 free and third in the 500 free and swam on the winning 200 and 400 free relays. He swam on Rural's seventh-place 200 free relay and at state.

BROGAN MEIER, Washburn Rural -- A freshman, Meier finished third in the 200 freestyle and fourth in the 500 free in the city meet for the champion Junior Blues and finished second in the 100 backstroke and sixth in the 50 free in the the Centennial League meet. Meier also swam on the Junior Blues' fourth-place 200 medley relay in the league meet.

PERRY PAYNE, Topeka High -- Payne's sophomore season included a runner-up finish in the city meet in the 100 breaststroke and he also finished fifth in the 200 individual medley. Payne swam on Topeka High's 400 freestyle relay team that finished fourth in the city meet and on the 200 free relay that took fifth. Payne placed fifth in the 100 breast and seventh in the 200 individual medley in the league meet.

LUKE PERKINS, Shawnee Heights -- A sophomore, Perkins won a pair of individual events in the city meet and also helped the T-Birds post a relay victory. Perkins won the 200 individual medley and the 500 freestyle at city and also swam on Heights' winning 200 medley relay team. Perkins finished third in the 5A-1A state meet in the 100 butterfly and also posted a seventh-place finish in the 200 individual medley. 

WILLIAM POWELL, Washburn Rural -- The Washburn Rural freshman finished second in the 100 butterfly in his first city meet and took fifth in the 500 freestyle. Powell finished second in the 200 individual medley in the Centennial League meet and was third in the 100 butterfly. Powell also swam on the Junior Blues' fourth-place 200 medley relay in the league meet.

HUDSON RAMIREZ, Hayden -- Ramirez, a senior, posted a second-place city finish in the 200 freestyle and finished third in the the 500 free and swam on the Wildcats' 200 free relay that finished second and on the 400 free relay that took third. Ramirez placed third in the 200 free in the Centennial League meet and fourth in the 500 free. Ramirez swam on Hayden's third-place 400 free relay in the league meet.

MARQUEL RUSSELL, Washburn Rural -- A senior, Russell was the city champion in diving for the second straight season, finishing with a score of 228.10. Russell added a second-place finish in the Centennial League diving event and competed in the 6A state meet.

NATHEN TRACHTA, Washburn Rural -- A junior, Trachta won city championships in the 100 butterfly and the 100 backstroke and repeated that double in the Centennial League championships. Trachta also helped the Junior Blues post 200 and 400 free relay wins in both the city and league meets. Trachta swam on Washburn Rural's 200 free relay team that finished seventh in the 6A state meet.

AIDEN ZULUETA, Hayden -- Zulueta, a senior, was the city runner-up in the 100 backstrokes and also posted a fourth-place finish in the 200 individual medley. Zulueta also swam on Hayden's 200 free relay that finished second in the city meet and on the 400 free relay that took third. Zulueta finished fifth in the 100 backstroke in the Centennial League meet and placed sixth in the 200 individual medley.
