Five individual state medalists and the Centennial League individual champion earned the six spots on the All-City girls bowling team, selected by city coaches.

Seaman, which went through the 2021 season undefeated until a fourth-place finish in the Class 5A-1A state tournament at Wichita's Northrock Lanes, put juniors Kaitlyn Evans and Makenzie Millard and sophomore Katie Price on the first team, while Washburn Rural, which placed third as a team in the 6A state meet, is represented by senior Hannah Casto and junior Kaitlyn Doyal while Shawnee Heights is represented by senior Brylee Prockish.

Millard placed a city-high fourth individually in 5A-1A and was a regional champion while Evans finished ninth at state and Price won the Centennial League individual title.

Doyal and Casto finished seventh and ninth individually in the 6A state tournament at Wichita while Prockish earned a 5A-1A state medal with a 20th-place finish.

The All-City second team includes Washburn Rural sophomore Amaya Buchanan, Topeka High junior Gabbi McCarthy, Shawnee Heights senior Maggie Stadler, Seaman freshman Cheyenne Turkin, Hayden senior Isabella Valdivia and Topeka West freshman Megan Wood.

McCarthy finished 15th and Buchanan 17th in the 6A state meet and Turkin placed 16th in 5A-1A while Stadler, Valdivia and Wood all competed at state.

All-City capsules:

HANNAH CASTO, Washburn Rural -- Casto capped her senior season with a ninth-place finish in the 6A state tournament with a 607 series and games of 207 and 210, helping lead the Junior Blues to a third-place team trophy. Casto was the individual champion in a 6A regional with a 629 series as the Junior Blues captured the regional team title. Casto was the runner-up in the Centennial League meet with a 650 series as Rural finished second as a team.

KAITLYN DOYAL, Washburn Rural -- A junior, Doyal finished seventh individually in the 6A state meet with a 631 series, posting a high game of 242, and helping the Junior Blues post a third-place team finish. Doyal finished third at regionals with a 554 series for the team champions and she finished ninth individually in the Centennial League meet with a 505 series as Rural finished second as a team.

KAITLYN EVANS, Seaman -- Evans, a junior, earned a ninth-place medal in the 5A-1A state tournament with a 599 series (215 high game) as Seaman finished fourth as a team. Evans posted a ninth-place individual finish in 5A-1A regional competition with a 543 series for the team-champion Vikings and placed sixth in the Centennial League tournament with a 526 series as Seaman won the league team championship.

MAKENZIE MILLARD, Seaman --  A junior, Millard posted a city-high fourth-place finish in the 5A-1A state meet with a 612 series, including games of 232 and 221. Millard moved up a spot individually after taking fifth at state as a junior. Seaman, who helped the Vikings finish fourth as a team at state, was the individual regional champion with a 666 series and third in the Centennial League meet with a 590 series as Seaman was the team champ in both tournaments.

KATIE PRICE, Seaman -- The Viking sophomore won the Centennial League individual championship with a 658 series, helping lead Seaman to the team championship. Price placed 10th at regionals with a 537 series for the team-champion Vikings and Price posted a 31st-place finish in the 5A-1A state tournament with a 496 series as Seaman finished fourth in the team standings.

BRYLEE PROCKISH, Shawnee Heights -- Prockish capped her high school career with a medal-winning performance in the 5A-1A state tournament, taking 20th with a 540 series as the T-Birds finished seventh as a team. Prockish placed second individually in 5A-1A regional competition with a 592 series as Heights finished second as a team. Prockish took fifth in the United Kansas Conference meet as the T-Birds won the league title.
