Silver Lake's girls basketball team, top-ranked in Class 3A by the Kansas Basketball Coaches Association, improved to 14-1 Monday night with a 75-36 romp at Pleasant Ridge.

Eagle sophomores McKinley Kruger and Makenzie McDaniel scored 17 points apiece for Silver Lake, with McDaniel also grabbing 10 rebounds and Kruger recoring five assists and three steals.

Junior Taylor Ross scored nine points and grabbed seven rebounds while junior Mariah Farmer had nine points and four steals.

Silver Lake's boys dropped a 60-54 decision to the Rams, with Pleasant Ridge using a 13-0 run in the second quarter and an 11-2 run in the third quarter to hold off the Eagles, who fell to 5-10.

Senior Troy Heiman led Silver Lake with 18 points while Kamryn Kaniper added 13 points and Isaac Mountain 12.

Silver Lake's girls and boys will play at Riley County on Thursday before traveling to Rossville on Friday.
