Seaman's girls soccer team powered its way past Hayden with a 4-2 Centennial League victory on Tuesday at Hayden High.
The Vikings were all smiles after kicking in four goals and playing stellar defense down the stretch.

Seaman has scored more than three goals on two separate occasions this season, incuding Tuesday's contest.
“We knocked the ball really well today,” Seaman coach Tim Nussbaum said. “I thought we kept possession of the ball well. Our different formation switch helped us greatly today. We played one up top and then two up top, which gave us more creativity. I’d like for us to be a little more cleaner in the backdoor to clear the ball out, so we don’t give up any goals.
“Overall, I was really pleased with how the team performed today.”
Leading the offensive charge was junior forward Brooklyn Yingling. Yingling had the first goal of the game and the last one to seal the win for Seaman.
“It was amazing to get the win today,” Yingling said. “Wins have been tough to come by, so I am glad I was able to do my part in helping us get the win. If we keep up the energy from today going forward, I think it will be a big help for us.
“I think we all took a step forward in where we are trying to be.”
Seaman midfielder Jaycee Schumann would be set up for the goal by Yingling just 2:45 later in the first half.
“It was good for us to make an impact early,” Schumann said. “We worked in a lot of different formations today and it worked really well for us. I want us to keep up the hard work and score more goals. I know the goals have been hard to come by this year, but if we played like we did today, we will be great.”
Marin Schuler was able to kick in a goal as Seaman opened up a commanding 3-0 lead going into the halftime break.
Hayden would gain some momentum coming out of the break. Elaina Wolff would fire up the Wildcats by kicking a goal 3:06 into the second half.
Seaman’s defense would bear down and stop Hayden’s momentum. Carstyn Anderson kicked out the ball when Hayden was close to scoring several times. Anderson’s defense was top-notch and it had a huge impact on the Lady Vikes victory.
Yingling would get her second goal of the day, giving Seaman a three-goal lead.
Hayden midfielder Jill Lenherr would knock in a goal with 16:28 left in the game, but Seaman’s defense would prevent Hayden from causing any more damage and would hold on for the win.
Seaman will face Centennial League rival Topeka High on Friday night at Hummer Sports Park while Hayden (7-4-1) will host Class 6A No. 7-ranked Manhattan on Friday.
