Topeka West played the game with two of their offensive linemen injured, so it proved to be difficult to get their running game going while Seaman started quickly and never looked back, winning by a score of 53-6.

After holding the Chargers to a three-and-out, Seaman scored on their second play from scrimmage -- a 53-yard pass from senior Max Huston to senior Bryer Finley.

Following a Topeka West fake punt, Seaman drove down the field and junior Kaden McKinney rushed 6 yards for a touchdown.

Topeka West’s third punt was fumbled and recovered by the Chargers on the Viking 30-yard-line. On the third play following the turnover, freshman Josiah Wilke connected with senior Elijah Berg on a 37-yard touchdown pass, making the score 14-6.

Early in the second quarter, the Vikings scored on an 18 yard pass from Huston to Finley, giving Seaman a 20-6 lead.

After the Chargers turned the ball over on downs, Huston connected with Finley for their third touchdown, a 65-yard pass down the right sideline.

Following a Topeka West turnover on downs, Seaman had a time-consuming drive, which ended in a 16 yard touchdown pass from Huston to sophomore Jack Becker, giving the Vikings a 34-6 lead.

A short punt by Topeka West gave Seaman a short field and the combination of Huston and Finley connected for the fourth time, extending the Vikings' lead to 40-6, which was the halftime score.

Due to approaching inclement weather, the second half was played with a running clock.

Seaman had the first possession of the third quarter and ran the ball three straight times, leading to a McKinney 17-yard touchdown run, making the score 46-6.

Seaman scored again following a Charger turnover on downs with a 26-yard run by senior Samson Tootle, increasing the lead to 53-6.

The game was cancelled due to lightning in the area with 10 minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, with Seaman improving their record to 2-1 while Topeka West fell to 0-3.

Huston had a terrific night for the Vikings, going 12 of 19 passing for 272 yards and five touchdowns. His favorite target, Finley, finished with six catches for 188 yards and four touchdowns.

The running game was also successful for Seaman as both running backs, McKinney and Tootle, carried the ball 10 times each, with McKinney gaining 86 yards and two touchdowns and Tootle rushing for 115 yards and one touchdown.

Seaman will travel to Kansas City to take on Turner next Friday night in a United Kansas Conference game.Topeka West will travel to Lansing to take on the Lions in a conference tilt next Friday night.
