Senior star Addison Broxterman reached the coveted 100-win mark for her career as Washburn Rural girls' wrestling team dominated Saturday's Leavenworth Girls Challenger.

Broxterman, a two-time state finalist, won the 125-pound title en route to becoming the 10th wrestler in Kansas high school girls wrestling to reach the century mark for victories.

Broxterman, 5-0 on the year, capped her day with a 21-second win by fall over Blue Springs South's Maddie Tally.

Broxterman was one of four tournament champions for the Junior Blues, who won the team title in the 14-school tournament by a 283.5-152.5 margin over Leavenworth.

Also winning indiviual championships for the Junior Blues were junior 105-pounder Kristen Rezac, 140-pound junior Laiken Clark and 155-pound junior Raya Eilert while Rural got second-place finishes from freshman Molly Spader (100), sophomore Delaney Hill (105), sophomore Maddy Blow (115), senior Ammi Miller (120) and senior Alexis Fredrickson (130).

Annie Gallegos finished third in the 130-pound division and junior Sophia Ross was third at 235.

Rural boys the runner-up in Leavenworth Challenger

Lawrence and Washburn Rural battled it out for the team championship in Saturday's Leavenworth Challenger, with the Lions claiming the top spot by a 287-267 margin over the Junior Blues, the two-time defending Class 6A state champion.

Rural got individual championships from sophomore Easton Broxterman at 113 pounds, freshman Landen Kocher-Munoz at 120, senior Henri McGiven at at 126, junior Blaine Baird at 138 and junior Brody Byrne at 157 pounds.

Broxterman, Kocher-Munoz, McGivern and Byrne went 5-0 on the day while Baird went 4-0.

Rural's Joe Clark won the title in the 175-pound 'B' bracket, going 5-0 on the day.

Heights girls win Emporia team title

Shawnee Heights' girls won individual titles on the way to the team championship in Saturday's Emporia Invitational by a 137-115 margin over Chanute, with Emporia third with 114 points.

The T-Birds got individual titles from Connie Burns at 100 pounds, Odessa Schmidt at 110, Molly Buenitz at 120 and Hannah Sixkiller at 145 pounds while McKenna Haltom was second in the 155-pound division, Theo Ofuasia second at 235 and Madison Freeland third at 140 pounds.

Natalie Smith won the 115-pound championship for Seaman, which also got a title from Koti Best at 130. The Vikings got second-place finishes from Jenna Best (125) and Kaidence Hesston (135) and a third-place finish from Madison Murray (120).

Topeka got a title at 140 pounds from Marilena Zuniga while Indrid Cabrera was second at 100 pounds, Nevaiah Martin the runner-up at 105 and Alesia Alvarez second at 170.

Shawnee Heights' boys rolled to the team title in Caney Valley's KanOkla Invitational tournament by a 194-179 margin over Pittsburg, led by three individual champions.

Senior Nick Freeland won the tournament title at 150 pounds with a perfect 3-0 day while senior Sean Wunder went 4-0 to win the 215-pound championship and junior Rykan Carver went 4-0 to take the title at 285 pounds.

Freeland pinned Pittsburg's Tyler Bailey in the 150-pound championship match while Wunder pinned Girard's Arrick Williams in 45 seconds in the 215 final and Carver pinned Coffeyville's Kainen White in the 285 final.

Junior Andrew Bonebrake was the runner-up at 132 pounds and junior Allen Baughman finished third at 175 pounds.

Rossville girls notch three titles at Spring Hill meet

Rossville's Keera Lacock, Kendra Hurla all won individual championships in the Spring Hill Invitational on Saturday, helping the Bulldawgs finish eighth as a team.

Lacock won the 120-pound championship with a 31-second pin over Olathe Northwest's Megan Vazquez while two-time state champ Kendra Hurla took the 125-pound title with a 17-1 technical fall over Spring Hill's Jay Yoder.

Rossville's Cassie Fund won the 135-pound 'B' bracket with a 1:49-second win by fall over Holton's Lorna Smith.

The Bulldawgs' Hailey Horton finished second at 155 pounds while Reagan Wonnell finished thid at 140 pounds.

Rossville's boys competed in the Raider Classic at Wamego, getting second-place finishes from 138-pounder Aryon Klesath and 285-pounder Barrett Lietz and a third-place finish at 157 pounds from Paxton Willett.
