Washburn Rural's softball team capped a 4-0 run in a span of about 24 hours at the College Boulevard Activity Center Saturday with a 9-2 win over Olathe Northwest and a 7-0 victory over Olathe South, improving to 6-2 on the season.
Senior Olivia Bruno pitched a four-hitter with 11 strikeouts and hit a home run and a double against Olathe Northwest while sophomore Emmerson Cope went 3 for 3 with a pair of homers and four runs batted in.
Senior Kayden Smith went 3 for 4 with a double while junior Campbell Bagshaw and sophomore Kaci Bath also doubled in the game.
Cope pitched a five-hitter in Rural's second game of the day against Olathe South with seven strikeouts and zero walks while also going 2 of 3 with a double.
Bath went 2 for 4 with a double and two RBI and Smith had a double and two RBI against South.
