Former Washburn Rural teammates Abby Glynn and Megan Lucas have been closely intertwined for much of their golf careers and nothing changed Monday, with the duo just a stroke apart entering Tuesday's final round of the Kansas Women's Amateur at Topeka Country Club.

Glynn, a three-time Class 6A state team champ and three-time individual medalist, finished Monday's 36-hole day at 151 after rounds of 75 and 76 while Lucas, a former 6A individual champion, three-time medalist and two-time state team champ, is at 152 after shooting rounds of 77 and 75.
Glynn, who will play her final season at Kansas in 2022-2023, is tied for fourth place and Lucas, set for her final season at Wichita State, is tied for sixth entering the final day of the Amateur at TCC.
"I had fun,'' Glynn said. "It's fun to get to play ourt here. I haven't played out here (in a tournament) since high school tournaments, so it's been a little bit.''
Overall, Glynn was pleased with her day.
"Down the stretch the second round I had some late bogeys, but other than that for a 36-hole day I was happy,'' Glynn said. "The course is in great shape and I had a really fun group today and got to play with some friends.''
Glynn was also happy to see Lucas towards the top of the leaderboard.
"It's good to see other friends and old teammates playing well,'' Glynn said.
Lucas thought she could have scored better, but like Glynn, was pretty pleased with her performance.
"I was happy with how the day went,'' Lucas said. "I definitely left a lot out there, but it's fun playing a course where you feel comfortable and you feel like you can birdie every hole because I probably have birdied almost every hole at some point in time, so there's nothing to be afraid of.
"It's just going out and having fun, that's the biggest thing. It's my last year of college golf, so I just want to go out and have fun.''
Glynn and Lucas will play in the same threesome Tuesday, teeing off at 8:50 a.m.
Recent Washburn Rural graduate Aliyah North is tied for 36th place at 168 (83-85) while former Rural standout Madelyn Luttjohann is 39th at 170 (84-86) and Seaman senior Lois Deeter tied for 46th at 177 (89-88).
Emerie Schartz is the tournament leader at 146, a stroke ahead of Megan Whittaker and three strokes in front of Hanna Hawks.
