If the 2022 All-Shawnee County boys golf team tooks familiar, there's a very good reason, with the seven members of the '22 team all repeat selections from the '21 team.

Washburn Rural, which won its 12th straight city team championship and finished fifth in the Class 6A state tournament at Dodge City, is represented on the All-Shawnee County team by the senior trio of Turner Depperschmidt, Giles Frederickson and Luke Leonetti, while Topeka West sophomore Myles Alonzo, Silver Lake sophomore Bryce Badsky, Shawnee Heights junior Alex Valdivia and Seaman senior Gavin Wilhelm round out the first team.

Alonzo was a regional champion and 5A state medalist while Badsky earned a second straight medal in the 3A state tournament, Valdivia was the city and United Kansas Conference individual champ and Wilhelm led Seaman to a regional team title in a tiebreaker over Valdivia's Shawnee Heights team.

All-City capsules:

MYLES ALONZO, Topeka West -- A sophomore, Alonzo shot a 78 to tie for 17th in the weather-shortened 5A state tournament at Winfield, earning his first state medal. Alonzo took medalist honors in regional competition, shooting a 76 and winning with a birdie on the first hole of a playoff. Alonzo tied for fifth in the Centennial League meet after placing seventh in the city tournament.

BRYCE BADSKY, Silver Lake -- Badsky, a sophomore, earned a 3A state medal for the second straight season, shooting an 80 to place 10th in the weather-shortened tournament at Salina Municipal. Badsky qualified for state with an eighth-place individual finish in regional competition. Badsky finished 13th in the 3A state tournament as a freshman.

TURNER DEPPERSCHMIDT, Washburn Rural -- Depperschmidt, a senior, shot a 36-hole total of 160 in the 6A state tournament at Dodge City, helping the Junior Blues finish fifth as a team. Depperschmidt tied for third in a 6A regional tournament with a 77 after tying for fifth in the city tournament and placing 13th in the Centennial League meet.

GILES FREDERICKSON, Washburn Rural -- A senior, Frederickson placed seventh in the 6A tournament at Dodge City with a 36-hole score of 149, helping the Junior Blues finish fifth as a team. Frederickson placed third in the city meet for team-champion Rural, tied for fifth in the Centennial League meet and tied for sixth at regionals. Frederickson shot a season-low 68, tying Rural's school record. 

LUKE LEONETTI, Washburn Rural -- Leonetti, a senior, ended his high school career with a sixth-place finish in the 6A state tournament with a 36-hole 148 total. Leonetti, the city champion as a junior, finished second in this spring's city tournament, tied for fifth in the Centennial League tournament and tied for 12th in 6A regional competition.

ALEX VALDIVIA, Shawnee Heights -- A junior, Valdivia won the city championship by two strokes with a 27-hole total of 116 and took medalist honors in the United Kansas Conference tournament by four strokes. Valdivia tied for a regional title with a 76, finishing second in a playoff. Valdivia made the cut with a first-round 80 in the 5A state meet at Winfield, but the final round was rained out.

GAVIN WILHELM, Seaman -- Wilhelm, a senior, tied for third in 5A regional competition as Seaman won the team title in a tiebreaker. Wilhelm tied for third in the Centennial League, tied for fifth in the city tournament and shot a 79 in the first round of the state tournament at Winfield to make the cut before the second round was rained out.
