Five city high school girls soccer teams will be at home to open their postseason bids with regional contests while a sixth city school received a first-round bye.

Washburn Rural and Topeka High in Class 6A, Seaman and Shawnee Heights in 5A and Hayden in 4A-1A earned home field advantage for their regional openers while Cair Paravel Latin earned a first-round bye in 4A-1A.

The first two rounds of regional competition will be held this week, followed by state quarterfinals and the final four in all three state tournaments next week.

Here's a look at regional tournament involving city schools:

CLASS 6A

Campus at Washburn Rural

Washburn Rural is the No. 1 West seed with a 13-3-0 record and will be at McElroy Field for a 6 p.m. regional opener Tuesday against No. 16 Campus (3-13-0).

Rural, third in 6A last season, has assured itself of being at home through the state quarterfinals if the Junior Blues continue to win and the Class 6A state tournament will also be held in Topeka at Hummer Sports Park.

The Junior Blues are coming off a 1-0 heartbreaker to nine-time state champion Blue Valley West on Friday, but that was the first goal Rural had allowed since late March while running off 10 straight victories and clinching the Centennial League title and the top West seed.

With a win Tuesday Washburn Rural will advance to a regional final on Thursday to host the winner of Tuesday's regional contest between No. 8 seed Wichita Northwest (9-7-0) and No. 9 Wichita East (9-7-0).

Derby vs. Topeka High

At Hummer Sports Park

Topeka High is the No. 6 West seed with a 10-5-0 record and will host No. 11 Derby (8-7-1) at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Hummer Sports Park.

With a win Tuesday the Trojans will advance to a regional final on Thursday to face the winner of the regional opener between No. 3 Dodge City (11-4-1) and Free State (3-12-1).

If Dodge City wins its opener the regional final will be played at Dodge City. 

CLASS 5A

Spring Hill vs. Shawnee Heights

At Bettis Family Sports Complex

Shawnee Heights is the No. 7 East seed at 11-5-0 and will host No. 10 Spring Hill (7-9-0) at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Bettis Family Sports Complex.

With a win over Spring Hill the T-Birds will advance to a Thursday regional final to face the winner of the regional opener between No. 2 Kansas City-Sumner Academy (14-2-0) and No. 15 Bonner Springs (4-10-2).

If Sumner advances the Sabres will host the regional final.

Kansas City-Schlagle at Seaman 

Seaman, 10-4-1 on the season, is the No. 5 East seed and will be at home on Tuesday for a 6 p.m. regional opener against No. 12 seed Kansas City-Schlagle (5-10-1).

With a win the Vikings will advance to a regional final on Thursday to face the winner of the first-round regional game between No. 4 Basehor-Linwood (13-3-0) and No. 13 Lansing (5-11-0).

If Basehor-Linwood wins its Monday first-round game the Bobcats will host Thursday's regional final.

Highland Park at De Soto

Highland Park is the No. 11 East seed at 6-8-0 and will be on the road Tuesday to face No. 6 seed De Soto (11-5-0) in a 6 p.m. Tuesday contest.

The Highland Park-De Soto winner will play for a regional title on Thursday, facing the winner between No. 3 seed Blue Valley Southwest (13-3-0) and No. 14  Piper (5-11-0).

With a victory on Tuesday Blue Valley Southwest will host Thursday's regional final.

Topeka West at Andover Central

The 3-12-1 Chargers are the No. 14 West seed and will be on the road Tuesday for a 6 p.m. regional game against No. 3 seed Andover Central (13-2-1).

The West-Central winner will play for a regional title on Thursday against the winner between No. 6 Hays (10-6-0) and No. 11 Goddard (8-7-1).

CLASS 4A-1A

Mulvane at Hayden

Hayden, third in Class 4A-1A last season, will be the first city school to open its soccer postseason, hosting Mulvane in a 4 p.m. regional game on Monday.

Hayden, 9-6-1 on the season, is the No. 7 West seed while No. 10 seed Mulvane is 5-11-0.

With a win on Monday Hayden will advance to a Friday regional final at Rose Hill (10-3-1), which received a first-round bye.

Cair Paravel Latin bye

Cair Paravel, the No. 2 East seed at 11-4-1, received a first-round regional bye and will play a regional final on Thursday against the winner of the first-round game between No. 7 Eudora (9-7-0) and No. 10 Tonganoxie (7-8-1).
