Needless to say, Bo Reeves and his Rossville teammates were over the moon with excitement after capping a perfect 13-0 football season with the Class 2A state championship last fall.
Some seven months later that excitement hasn't really waned. In fact, Reeves may appreciate that achievement more now than he did back in November.
"Lookng back at it now, it actually feels real,'' Reeves said. "We got our rings, we see it in the books and it seems a lot more real than it did back then because then it was such a surreal thing.
"It was about the best we could have asked for. It was a great year, it was fun.''

This week Reeves is getting the opportunity to add one more high school highlight before heading off to Central Missouri, playing wide receiver for the East in Saturday's 7 p.m. Kansas Shrine Bowl at Hutchinson's Gowans Stadium.
"It's going really well,'' said the 6-5, 210-pound Reeves. "We're starting to mesh a little bit, starting to get to know each other. These coaches are great. They're some of the best coaches I've ever been around and they've got great insight on the game.
"Obviously the most important part is playing as a team and playing for the kids in the (Shriner) hospitals. We're looking forward to this game.''
Reeves is coming off an outstanding senior season for Derick Hammes' Bulldwags, catching 24 passes for 462 yards (19.3 average) and 11 touchdowns.
Reeves scored 13 total TDs while also adding 68 extra points as Rossville's place-kicker to finish with 146 points on the year.
The Bulldawg standout, who is projected to play tight end in college, garnered considerable recruiting interest before deciding on Central Missouri, located in Warrensburg, Mo.
"I just thought it was the best place for me -- the offense they run, I really love the coaches and the campus is great,'' said Reeves, who will report to the Mules on Aug. 5..
Reeves said this week's Shrine Bowl camp at Ottawa University will help him get ready for college, both on and off the football field.
"I feel like this will help me a bunch,'' Reeves said. "Obviously staying with other people, away from your parents for a week, will give me a good idea of what college will be like.
"And these are the best players in Kansas, obviously the hits are going to be harder, and this will be like starting on the collegiate level a little bit.''
