Hayden's girls soccer team snapped a five-game losing streak against Class 6A and 5A competition with a 5-0 Centennial League road romp past 5A Emporia on Tuesday.

Now 8-5-1 on the season, the Wildcats took control with a pair of first-half goals and added three goals after the break.

Sophomore Jill Lenherr, junior Briahna Barnett, senior Elizabeth Dunshee and junior Piper Wrench scored goals for the Wildcats, who also benefitted from an own goal.

Junior Sloane Sims was credited with a pair of assists while Lenherr and senior Riley Schmidtlein also had assists for the Wildcats.

Senior Macy Smith and sophomore Hannah Schmitz combined for the shutout in goal for Hayden.

The Wildcats will close out their regular season at Washburn Rural on Thursday.
