Seaman led just one time in Friday night's Class 5A regional playoff game at De Soto, but it was the only time that counted.

The No. 9-seeded Vikings came back from 7-0, 21-7 and 28-14 deficits to shock the top-seeded Wildcats 31-28 on a 25-yard Ethan Geiger field goal with 7:08 remaining.
Seaman, which improved to 6-4, advanced to a 5A state quarterfinal road contest against defending state champion Mill Valley, a 56-7 winner over Spring Hill, while De Soto ended its season 8-2.
DeSoto jumped out to a 7-0 lead at the 7:11 mark of the opening quarter, but Seaman answered at the 5:20 mark on a 53-yard run from junior quarterback Max Huston (Geiger kick).
The game was tied 7-all at the end of the first before De Soto boosted its lead to 21-7 with a pair of TDs over the first 4:11 of the second period.
But Seaman cut its halftime deficit to 21-14 at the half, getting a 73-yard bomb from Huston to senior Callen Barta with just 51 seconds left before the break.
De Soto opened up a two-touchdown advantage for the second time on the night at 28-14 with 4:11 left in the third quarter, but that would be the Wildcats' last points of the night as Seaman outscored the hosts 17-0 the rest of the way.
Huston hit Barta for a 1-yard score with 40 seconds left in the third and then Huston knotted the game just 47 seconds into the fourth quarter on a 12-yard run (Geiger kick).
That set the stage for Geiger to be the hero with his clutch field goal and the Viking defense held on the rest of the way as Seaman poste its second straight road win over a higher-seeded opponent.

WASHBURN RURAL 27, JUNCTION CITY 20 -- Washburn Rural improved to 10-0 with its second win of the season over Centennial League rival Junction City, with the Junior Blues scoring the game-winning touchdown on a 69-yard touchdown strike from senior quarterback Branton DeWeese to senior Calvin Hayes with 6:15 remaining.
DeWeese went 11 of 15 passing for 162 yards and three touchdowns in the Washburn Rural win while Hayes had four catches for 100 yards and the game-winning TD.

Senior JC Heim, who starred for Washburn Rural on both sides of the ball, got the Junior Blues on the board with a 2-yard TD run but Junction City (6-4) answered to tie the game at 7-7.
The Blue Jays took a 10-7 lead on a 31-yard field goal but Rural answered with a 23-yard TD pass from DeWeese to Heim with 24 seconds left in the first half.
Rural went up 20-10 on a 29-yard TD pass from DeWeese to Titan Osburn but Junction City answered back with 10 straight points, tying the game on a 26-yard field goal before Rural scored the game-winning TD.

Junior King Leonard had a big night for the Washburn Rural defense, picking off a pair of Brock Bazan passes.
Bazan, a senior, went 13 of 34 passing on the night for 295 yards and a pair of touchdowns as Junction City finished the night with 407 total yards.
Rural, the No. 1 West seed, advances to the state quarterfinals to face a Wichita East team that the Junior Blues opened the season with. Rural won that game 26-25 over the Blue Aces, who earned the rematch with a 48-28 win over Wichita Northwest.

HAYDEN 42, SANTA FE TRAIL 24 -- Hayden took control late to post its 10th straight victory, a 42-24 home Class 3A regional playoff decision over Santa Fe Trail.
With Friday's win the 10-0 Wildcats will advance to a road matchup next Friday with 9-1 Parsons, a 50-22 winner over Prairie View.
Hayden rode big plays to the win over Santa Fe Trail, beginning with a 77-yard touchdown run from sophomore Kade Mitchell on the Wildcats' first play from scrimmage. Broderick Desch scored a two-point conversion to put Hayden in front, 8-0.
Santa Fe Trail (7-3) cut the Hayden lead to 8-6 with a 1-yard pass from Luke Edwards to Kyle Strother with 57 seconds left in the opening quarter (conversion failed).
Mitchell scored hits second long TD of the night on a 68-yard run with 24 seconds left in the first (Desch conversion) to give the Wildcats a 16-6 advantage.

Hayden made if a 22-6 game with 10:19 left in the first half on a 48-yard run from Jensen Schrickel (conversion failed) but the Chargers answered with a six-play, 80-yard scoring drive, capped by a 25-yard TD pass from Edwards to Strother with 7:52 left in the half (conversion failed) to make the score 22-12 Hayden at the half.
Santa Fe Trail edged to within four points in the third quarter on a 31-yard TD strike from Edwards to Blake Slavin (conversion failed), but Hayden went back up by 10 points on a 29-yard TD pass from sophomore Connor Hanika to Schrickel with 9:22 left in the game (conversion failed).
Trail scored its final touchdown with 6:09 left on a 10-yard pass from Edwards to Strother (conversion failed) but Hayden got a 38-yard TD run from Dom Ridley (conversion good) and sealed the victory with a 5-yard Ridley touchdown run with 1:08 remaining after Schrickel picked off a pass to end Santa Fe Trail's final possession.

Mitchell had 165 rushing yards on 10 carries while Ridley had 108 yards on eight attempts and Hanika was 3 of 7 passing for 59 yards.

CAIR PARAVEL LATIN 76, CENTRAL-BURDEN 30 -- Cair Paravel Latin continued its dominating late-season run, rolling to a 76-30 road win at previously-unbeaten Central-Burden in an Eight-Man Division I regional playoff game.
The game ended at the 4:13 mark of the fourth quarter by way of the 45-point spread rule, with senior Jesiah Bonura ending the game with a 45-yard touchdown run.

Cair Paravel improved to 8-2 on the season and advances in the playoffs to face Chase County (7-3) on the road next Friday night. Chase County advanced with a 36-26 win over Moundridge. Next Friday's game will be the second meeting of the year between CPLS and Chase County, with the Lions rolling to a 52-16 district win in Week 7.
Cair Paravel went 12 of 18 passing for 312 yards and four touchdowns against Central-Burden and rushed for 305 yards and three TDs on 11 carries.
Bonura rushed for 58 yards and a TD on five attempts and caught five passes for 171 yards and a pair of TDs.
SABETHA 45, SILVER LAKE 34 -- Sabetha (9-1) moved on in the Class 2A playoffs with a 45-34 win over Silver Lake in a 79-point scorefest.
Sabetha advanced to host a quarterfinal game next Friday against Humboldt (9-1), which beat Riverton 24-14 Friday night.
Silver Lake had its seven-game winning streak snapped by Sabetha and ended the year 8-2.
The Lions two losses came against Hayden and Sabetha, who are a combined 19-1 on the season.
