Seaman senior catcher Dagen Brewer has been named the Centennial League baseball player of the year after leading the Vikings to a 20-3 record, a share of the league championship and a berth in the Class 5A state tournament.

Brewer was one of eight city players to earn spots on the 11-member first team.
Brewer is joined on the first team by Viking senior teammates Maclane Finley and Mason McConnaughey and junior Bryson Vawter, while Seaman's Trent Oliva was named the Centennial League coach of the year.
Washburn Rural, which shared the league crown and finished third in the 6A state tournament with a 19-6 record, put senior Brock Howard, junior Ty Weber and sophomore Kyle Walker on the first team, with Walker also being selected as the league newcomer of the year, while Topeka High senior Max Colombo also earned a first-team berth.
League tri-champion Manhattan, which finished second in 6A, put seniors Cade Perkins and Braden Dinkel and junior Kyler Horsman on the first team.

If the 2022 All-Shawnee County boys golf team tooks familiar, there's a very good reason, with the seven members of the '22 team all repeat selections from the '21 team.

Washburn Rural, which won its 12th straight city team championship and finished fifth in the Class 6A state tournament at Dodge City, is represented on the All-Shawnee County team by the senior trio of Turner Depperschmidt, Giles Frederickson and Luke Leonetti, while Topeka West sophomore Myles Alonzo, Silver Lake sophomore Bryce Badsky, Shawnee Heights junior Alex Valdivia and Seaman senior Gavin Wilhelm round out the first team.
Alonzo was a regional champion and 5A state medalist while Badsky earned a second straight medal in the 3A state tournament, Valdivia was the city and United Kansas Conference individual champ and Wilhelm led Seaman to a regional team title in a tiebreaker over Valdivia's Shawnee Heights team.

The T-Birds are represented on the All-UKC first team by senior goalkeeper Tatum Hoge, junior forward Emily Loy, freshman defender Lailah Benz and freshman midfielder Isabell Van Fleet.
Heights senior Katie Mulligan and juniors Abby Fleischer, Lily Martin and Kalyn Walter all earned berths on the all-conference second team.
De Soto junior midfielder Chloe Collins was named the UKC player of the year while Wildcat coach Jesse Smith was named the conference coach of the year.

Four Shawnee Heights softball players have earned first-team spots on the All-United Kansas Conference team after posting a 13-9 record on the 2022 season.

The T-Birds are represented by senior designated player Deja Gardenhire, senior infielder Abby Schulte, senior outfielder Ariah Durkes and freshman utility player Grace Proctor.
Heights sophomore catcher Annie Morgan, senior infielder Taryn Dial and sophomore outfielders Ally Adams andd Karlyn Bowman were second-team all-conference picks.
Class 5A state runner-up Basehor-Linwood put eight players on the All-UKC first team, including junior player of the year Taylor Cruse.

Senior pitcher Trevor Schattilly, senior outfielder Caden Walker and freshman infielder Deacon Pomeroy were all named to the all-conference first team for the T-Birds while Shawnee Heights coach Ryan Schmidt was named the UKC coach of the year after Heights posted a 13-10 record. Shawnee Heights' season ended with a 2-0 loss to Bishop Carroll in the first round of the 5A state tournament.
Heights juniors Evan Smith and Nic Perez and sophomore Jacob Malcom received All-UKC second-team recognition while seniors Braedon Ginter and Savon Scott received honorable mention.
