Washburn women's basketball led by as many as 28 points and never trailed in Thursday's 75-58 MIAA road victory at Lincoln.
Washburn (11-14 overall, 7-12 MIAA) jumped out to a 6-0 start in the game, with Emma Chapman scoring all six points, and the Ichabods closed out the final 55 seconds of the opening quarter with a pair of free throws and a layup from Macy Doebele to extend the lead to 17-10.

The Ichabods carried their momentum into the second quarter and outscored the Blue Tigers 14-4 leading up to the media timeout with just under the five minutes left in the first half.
Lincoln (5-20, 3-16 MIAA) came out of the timeout with a 6-0 scoring run, but WU freshman Gabi Artis put an end to that with a 3-pointer that sparked a run of 10 unanswered points for Washburn to finish out the half in front, 41-20.
The Ichabods shot a blistering 81.8 percent from the field (9-of-11) and made 4-of-5 from 3-point range in the quarter, with Artis making all three of her shot attempts from beyond the arc.
The Blue Tigers put up nine of the first 11 points scored to start the second half and trimmed the deficit to 43-29, but the Ichabods quickly regained control of the game with a 14-0 burst to go up by a game-high 28 points, 57-29, with 2:49 left in the third frame. The Blue Tigers closed out the quarter almost exactly how they started with an 8-2 run to cut the Washburn lead to 59-37 heading to the fourth.
Lincoln pulled within 12 with 78 seconds to go in regulation, but would get no closer as the Ichabods capped off the win with a 3-pointer from Amaya Davison and a layup by Jaden Newfarmer.
Washburn shot just under 50 percent for the game, finishing at 49.0 percent, and held Lincoln to a 31.7 field goal percentage. The Ichabods made 6-of-13 from behind the arc and the Blue Tigers were 5-for-20 from deep.
Washburn made 23 trips to the free throw line and successfully made 19 foul shots while Lincoln was 15-of-22 at the charity stripe. WU dominated on the glass and outrebounded LU, 46-27.
Artis tied a career-high in scoring with 16 points, shooting 5-of-8 from the field and 4-of-6 from three-point range. Chapman made 6-of-11 from the field and tallied 15 points. Aubree Dewey grabbed a career-high nine rebounds to go with eight points. In eight minutes off the bench, Newfarmer recorded career-highs with six points and four boards.
Ashlyn Alloway notched a double-double for the Blue Tigers with 20 points and 11 rebounds.
Washburn closes out its three-game week on Saturday at No. 12-ranked Central Missouri.
Blue Tigers top WU men, 64-58
Washburn had its 15-game winning streak in Jefferson City snapped in a 64-58 loss as the Ichabods struggled from 3-point range, going 2 of 12 overall and 0 of 8 in the first half.
The Ichabods (12-13 overall, 9-10 MIAA) trailed 29-18 at the break after struggling from the field (7 of 27) while the Blue Tigers hit 10 of 25 shots. In the opening half the Ichabod starters were 4 of 17 with two field goals each from Andrew Orr and Tyler Nelson, who had four points each.
Coming out of the half, Nelson connected on a 3-pointer and Jayden Monday had a breakaway layup to cutting the Lincoln lead to six at 29-23. Washburn cut the lead to four after another bucket by Nelson as Washburn trailed 33-29 with 14:54 to go at the first media timeout of the second half.
The Ichabods came up empty on four-straight possessions trailing by four or five points and after a free throw and a basket, Lincoln (17-6, 13-6) led 39-31 with 10:42 to play leading to an Ichabod timeout. After the timeout, Lincoln hit two more free throws to go back up 10.
Washburn chipped away to cut the margin to six with 7:54 to go at 44-38 on a traditional three-point play by Orr but Lincoln pushed its lead back to nine at 50-41 with 5:19 to go. A jumper by Nelson cut the lead to seven with 4:21 remaining entering the final media timeout.
The teams traded turnovers and after a 3-pointer by the Ichabods, Orr hit a layup in the paint with 3:10 to go as the Ichabods trailed, 53-45. Orr hit another shot with 2:12 to go to trim the lead back to six, but the Blue Tigers came back with a bucket of their own to push the margin back to eight. Jarmell Johnson had a driving layup putting the difference back to six again at 55-49 with 1:23 to play.
After a timeout, the Blue Tigers hit a 3-pointer stretching the lead back to nine at 58-49 with 1:15 to play and Washburn would not get any closer than five with 14 seconds left on a 3-pointer by Michael Keegan.
Washburn was led by Nelson and Orr with 13 points each and Johnson scored 11 off the bench.
Sam Rautins led the Blue Tigers with 15 points, going 4 of 6 from deep.
Washburn finished 24 of 54 from the field for a 44 percent clip, but was only 2 of 12 from deep. The Ichabods were 8 of 13 from the free throw line. The Blue Tigers finished 18 of 48 from the field (38 percent) but were 7 of 22 from deep and hit 21 of 34 free throws attempting 21 more from the charity stripe.
Washburn was outrebounded 40 to 31 on the glass as Lincoln had 12 offensive rebounds gaining 11 second chance points. Washburn outscored Lincoln 32 to 20 in the paint.
Washburn returns to action on Saturday at Central Missouri in Warrensburg.
