The Eagles' star senior 138-pounder captured the fourth regional/sub-state championship of his high school wrestling career in Saturday's Class 3A-1A sub-state at Marion, going 3-0 on the day with two pins to improve to 37-3 on the season. Allen, No. 3 in the KWCA state rankings, pinned Douglass' Matthew Reynolds 2:59 into the championship match after winning his first two matches with a 22-second pin and a 16-5 major decision. Allen helped lead the Eagles to the regional title by a 97-83 margin over Wellsville.

DAJIA ANDERSON, Washburn Rural

A senior, Anderson won the 191-pound title in last Friday's Division I girls sub-state tournament at Leavenworth, improving to 24-4 on the season and helping lead the Junior Blues to the team title. Anderson, top-ranked in the KWCA rankings and a returning state champion, recorded pins in 3:37 and 5:22 before outlasting No. 2-ranked Maranda Bell of Shawnee Heights in the championship match, 8-7.

Burns finished 3rd individually in last week's Centennial League bowling tournament at West Ridge Lanes with a 660 three-game series, helping lead the Vikings to the league team title by a 3,380-3,330 margin over Washburn Rural. Burns bowled games of 199, 227 and 234.

BISHOP MURRAY, Washburn Rural

A two-time state champion, the senior 120-pounder improved to 26-1 on the season en route to winning a Class 6A sub-state championship Friday at Wichita Heights. Murray, ranked No. 1 in 6A at 120, recorded a 17-0 technical fall and a 9-1 major decision before taking a 7-0 decision over No. 2-ranked Darius Shields of Free State, a 2020 3A-1A state champ, in the championship match, helping Washburn Rural win the team title by a 195-160 margin over Dodge City.

KATIE PRICE, Seaman

A sophomore, Price won the girls individual championship in last week's Centennial League bowling tournament with a 658 three-game series, leading the Vikings to the league team championship but a 3,079-2,969 margin over Washburn Rural. Price bowled games of 235, 226 and 197 to edge Rural's Hannah Casto by eight pins.

CADEN WALKER, Shawnee Heights

Walker, a junior, won the 160-pound championship in Saturday's Class 5A boys wrestling sub-state at De Soto, improving to 35-0 on the season.  Walker, ranked No. 3 in 5A in last week's KWCA 5A rankings at 160, won all three of his sub-state matches by pin, in 29 seconds, 1:02 and 2:45.
