For the second year in a row, Blue Valley Southwest came back to defeat the Seaman Vikings in the postseason.

Last year the Timberwolves put up 13 points in the fourth quarter to defeat Seaman, 27-21.

On Friday the Timberwolves were down at one point, 37-24, and came back to beat the Vikings, 44-37, with 20 unanswered points.

On the first drive of the game, Dylan Dunn chucked a 68-yard touchdown pass to Sam Swickard for the game’s first touchdown, giving Blue Valley Southwest the lead.

Right away, the Vikings clapped back. Camden Barta threw a 64-yarder to Brody Gormley to tie it up immediately after the Timberwolve touchdown.

Seaman gained momentum in the second quarter. Six minutes into the second quarter, Barta connected with Gormley again for a 52-yard passing touchdown.

In the second quarter, Seaman's defensive pressures caused Dunn to be sacked twice and throw an interception. The interception was hauled in by Cameron Selbach. who took the ball 69 yards for a Viking touchdown.

Blue Valley Southwest was able to collect a touchdown on the ground right before halftime, with Jake Laurie running the ball in for a 20-yard touchdown. That would be Laurie’s first of three touchdowns on the night.

At the half, Seaman held a 24-17 lead over the Timberwolves.

On the first possession in the third quarter, Dunn threw a 24-yard pass to Gage Iigles that resulted in a quick touchdown. Seaman got the ball back afterward and made the most of it, with Barta throwing  31 and 36-yard passes back to back to Gormley who was triple-covered both catches.

The Vikings would put up two touchdowns in the third quarter, both 2-yard rushing touchdowns by Jack Bloom. The Vikings were holding on tight with a 37-31 lead heading into the fourth quarter.

The Timberwolves and Vikings defenses shut the opposing offenses down for a majority of the fourth quarter. Southwest was able to march down to the redzone and give it to Laurie for a 1-yard touchdown with three minutes remaining. After a failed extra point, the game was tied at 37 with 3:58 left in the contest.

Seaman’s effective and strong pushes were able to get the Vikings down near the red zone with 44 seconds left in the game. Barta had his pass picked off by Emmitt Peters near the endzone. The Timberwolves earned a chance to win this game before the clock hit zero.

Great clock management and quick passes advanced the Timberwolves to Seaman's 11-yard line. Instead of kicking a field goal, Southwest went for it all, with Dunn throwing a dart to Laurie for the game-winning touchdown.

Dunn threw for 558 yards and four touchdowns to four different receivers.

Seaman quarterback Barta had a solid night for the Vikings, throwing for 313 yards, two touchdowns, and three interceptions. His two touchdown passes were both to Gormley. Gormley’s touchdown receptions were 64 and 52-yard strikes thrown by Barta.

The wide receivers dancing on the graves of defensive backs was the theme on Friday night for both schools. Viking receiver Casen Stallbaumer had 182 total yards and Gormley totaled 202 yards. Southwest receivers had a classic game. Zach Atkins attained 170 yards and Sam Swickard had 210 yards.
