A 6-foot-1 senior, Alexander combined for 49 points and eight 3-pointers on the week as Topeka West posted pair of United Kansas Conference victories to improve to 2-1 on the season. Alexander scored a career-high 31 points with five 3-pointers in a 74-62 win at Seaman last Tuesday and followed that up with 18 points and three 3s in Friday's 64-51 home win over Shawnee Heights.

A week after becoming the 10th Kansas high school girls wrestler to record 100 career victories, Broxterman, a senior, notched her 100th career pin in the Council Bluffs Classic on the way to a runner-up finish in the 125-pound division, improving to 12-1 on the season. Broxterman helped lead the Junior Blues to the team championship in the 32-school Iowa tournament by a 648-433.5 margin over Lewis Central, Iowa.

EMMA MITCHELL, Rossville

Mitchell, a 5-11 junior, was named the tournament most valuable player in last week's Irish Classic at Chapman, helping lead the 4-0 Bulldawgs to the championship. Mitchell capped her tournament performance with 20 points in a 56-47 win over Chapman on Saturday after scoring 16 points in a 58-7 win over Kansas City-Bishop Ward and 11 points in Rossville's 70-46 win over Salina Sacred Heart.

TAYLOR ROTTINGHAUS, Shawnee Heights

A 5-7 senior, Rottinghaus scored 35 points on the week as Shawnee Heights posted a pair of United Kansas Conference victories. Rottinhaus scored a career-high 18 points in the T-Birds' 54-32 home win over Piper last Tuesday and scored 17 points on Friday as Shawnee Heights improved to 2-1 with a 42-33 victory at Topeka West.

LAUREN SANDSTROM, Hayden

Sandstrom, a junior, scored a total of 51 points in three games in the Paul Terry Classic in Emporia as the Wildcats posted a 2-1 record. Sandstom scored a career-high 25 points, including eight in overtime, as Hayden rallied from a 19-point deficit to take a 60-54 opening-round win over Spring Hill. Sandstrom had eight points in a 52-27 loss to Emporia and scored 18 points on Saturday in a 46-26 win over Wichita Trinity.

KIKI SMITH, Topeka High

Smith, a 5-7 senior, helped lead Topeka High to the tournament championship with three straight wins in the Hardwood Classic at De Soto. Smith scored 22 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in a 48-30 win over Blue Valley Northwest, had 28 points with five 3-pointers, six assists and five rebounds in a 52-44 semifinal win over Olathe Northwest and scored 12 points with 10 rebounds and four steals on Saturday, helping the Trojans take a 55-39 win over tournament host De Soto in the championship game, the fourth straight win for 4-1 High.
