"I'm so proud of the team for their effort and ability to compete against a really good team in UCM,'' Washburn coach Davy Phillips said. "They executed things we talked about throughout the week at a really high level.

"Sunday will provide another really tough test that we will need to be our best for, but tonight is a really good night for our team."

In the 85th minute, Rohn, a former Washburn Rural star, found the bottom right corner of the net for what would be the game's only score.

It was a back-and-forth opening 45 minutes, with both teams having two shots each. Washburn forced the UCM goalie to make a save. The Ichabods had five corners to the Jennies' two.

Washburn would start the second half on the front foot by forcing a save in the opening two minutes of the half.

The Ichabods would force two more saves by the Central Missouri keeper in the 63rd minute. The Jennies would not go away, as they would earn a free kick at the top of the box in the 86th minute, and the resulting free kick would go off the crossbar and Washburn would go on to stay unbeaten for the 10th straight match while ending UCM's 10-game unbeaten streak.

Washburn beat UCM for the fourth time in a row.

Washburn had 10 shots to Central Missouri's seven. Out of the Ichabods' 10 shots, seven of them were on goal, forcing six saves.

Freshman goalkeeper Lili Everley and the Washburn defense posted their seventh shutout as a team this season.

The Ichabods will be at home again Sunday, taking on the Fort Hays State Tigers at 1 p.m. at Yager Stadium.
