Last week Richardson, a former Highland Park star, was named to the 2024 D2CCA Central Region team as voted on by the region's athletic communicators.

Richardson was a second-team all-region selection after earning unanimous first-team All-MIAA honors at wide receiver and honorable mention All-MIAA as a return specialist earlier this year.

Richardson was one of only two sophomores to be named to the all-region team.

Richardson ranks ninth in the nation and second in the MIAA in all-purpose yards, averaging 146.5 yards per game and he is also 16th in total receiving yards with 983 and 18th in receiving yards per game with 87.4 in the national rankings.

His 18.8 yards per reception was second in the MIAA and 23rd in the national rankings. He finished third in the MIAA in receiving touchdowns with 11.

As a kick returner, he was third in the MIAA in average yards per return at 24.1 on 16 attempts. Richardson also led the Ichabods in scoring with 66 points, finishing 10th in the MIAA overall.

The Don Hansen team carries out the legacy of long-time small college football advocate Don Hansen, who passed away at age 75 on Aug. 29, 2010.

Hansen, from Brookfield, Ill., started and published Don Hansen's National Weekly Football Gazette for three decades, selecting NCAA Division II All-America teams for the first time in 1988.
