Washburn's baseball team had a whopping nine players receive All-MIAA recognition Wednesday, led by senior second-team honorees Brock Gilliam and Brett Ingram.

Gilliam, a starting pitcher, went 6-2 in 12 regular-season starts, posting a 4.00 earned run average and 100 strikeouts, which has tied a school record and ranked second in the MIAA. Gilliam is five strikeouts away from setting Washburn's career strikeout record and he has had three games with 13 strikeouts.

Ingram earned second-team honors as a designated hitter after hitting .318 with six home runs, seven doubles, 32 runs batted in and 25 runs scored.

Ichabods Parker Dunn, an outfielder, and second baseman Tyler Clark-Chiapparelli both earned third-team honors from the MIAA, while shortstop Xavier De Leon, first baseman Eric Hinostroza, catcher Kros Bay, third baseman Zion Bowlin and pitcher Zach Philbin all received honorable mention.

Washburn, 19-20 on the season, will play a best-of-three series at Pittsburg State in the  MIAA Tournament, beginning Friday.

Dunn hit .323 this season and led Washburn with nine home runs and 35 RBI, while Clark-Chiapparelli hit .294 with seven doubles, three home runs and 16 RBI.

Hinostroza also received Gold Glove honors, recording 183 putouts and 21 assists while committing just three errors for a .986 fielding percentage.

Shawnee Heights product Dawson Pomeroy, now at Pittsburg State, earned first-team All-MIAA honors as a utility player while former Seaman standout Reid Fehr received All-MIAA honorable mention as an outfielder for Northeastern State.

Pomeroy is hitting .273 with six homers and 22 RBI and is 1-0 as a pitcher with a  2.25 earned run average, five saves and 18 strikeouts in 12 innings of work.

Fehr is hitting .307 with four homers and 23 RBI.

Central Missouri's Dusty Stroup was named the MIAA player of the year, while Missouri Southern's Zach Parish was named the pitcher of the year and Southern catcher Tommy Stevenson freshman of the year.

Northeastern State's Jake Hendrick was named MIAA coach of the year.
