Sophomore Imani McGlory scored a game-high 29 points with seven 3-pointers to lead the way as Topeka West's girls rolled to a 55-36 home United Kansas Conference victory over Leavenworth.

McGlory, who also canned three 3s in limited time in the junior varsity game was joined in double figures by senior Rebecca Bearman, who had  14 points, including 12 in the fourth quarter as Topeka West improved to 4-5 overall and 3-5 in the UKC.

Topeka West will compete next Thursday, Friday and Saturday in the Capital City Classic at Seaman.

ROSSVILLE BOYS ADVANCE TO TITLE GAME

Rossville's boys will play for the championship in the Oskaloosa Invitational at 4:30 p.m. Saturday after a 57-38 semifinal win over Jefferson County North Friday night.

Rossville and Jefferson North were tied at 10-10 at the end of the first quarter but the Bulldawgs outscored North 47-28 the rest of the way to take the 19-point win.

Now 6-4 on the season, Rossville had three players in double figures, led by junior Kameron Badura with 20 points, while sophomore Cameron Miller scored 12 points and sophomore Jack Donovan 11 with three 3-pointers.

 BULLDAWG GIRLS ROLL TO 72-37 MID-EAST WIN

Rossville broke open a close game with a 23-8 second quarter on the way to a 57-38 Mid-East League win over St. Marys.

The Bulldawgs, who improved to 8-1 overall and 2-1 in the league, led by just three points (18-15) at the end of the first quarter but used their big second quarter to take a 41-23 advantage to the locker room at the half.

Rossville then outscored the Bears 31-14 in the second half to finish off the 35-point win.

Freshman Nora Burdiek led the Bulldawgs with a game-high 17 points while sophomore Rylee Dick added 13, senior Kinsey Perine 12 points and junior Shyanne Haehn 11.

Rossville, ranked No. 4 in Class 3A by the Kansas Basketball Coaches Association, will compete in the Jefferson County North tournament next Tuesday, Friday and Saturday. 

SEAMAN GIRLS IMPROVE TO 9-0 WITH 64-15 ROMP

Seaman's girls, ranked No. 3 in Class 5A by the KBCA, improved to 9-0 overall and 8-0 in the United Kansas Conference with a 64-15 UKC win at Lansing Friday night.

The Vikings will host the Capital City Classic next Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

SEAMAN BOYS TAKE 63-60 NAILBITER OVER THUNDER

Seaman bounced back from a first-round loss in the McPherson Invitational to take a 63-60 win over St. James Academy on Friday.

Seaman led 24-23 at the half and 48-40 after three quarters before holding off the Thunder down the stretch.

The Vikings were scheduled to close out their tournament appearance with a 12:30 p.m. fifth-place game on Saturday against the winner of Friday's game between Bishop Carroll and Free State.

RURAL BOYS BOUNCE BACK WITH 60-57 WIN

Washburn Rural's boys bounced back from a first-round loss to Owasso, Okla. with a 63-60 consolation win over Willard, Mo. in Pittsburg's Bill Hanson Tournament.

The Junior Blues, now 3-7 on the season, will close out their tournament appearance with a 2:30 p.m. Saturday contest.

CAIR PARAVEL BOYS FALL TO HORTON, 58-45

Cair Paravel led 12-11 at the end of the first quarter but Horton took control over the final three periods, taking a 58-45 win in a Friday consolation game in the McLouth Invitational.

LION GIRLS TOPPED BY MAUR HILL-MT. ACADEMY

Maur Hill-Mt. Academy rolled to a 57-29 win over Cair Paravel in Friday's consolation game in the McLouth Invitational.
