Cair Paravel Latin continued its perfect 2021 football season Friday night, improving to 7-0 with a 54-12 romp past Cornerstone Family.
The Lions took control with a 24-point first quarter and led 24-0 at the half before taking a 32-0 lead in the third quarter.
Cair Paravel scored its final 22 points in the fourth quarter while Cornerstone scored all 12 of its points in the final period.
Cair Paravel senior quarterback Carter Brian completed 12 of 17 passes for 198 yards and four touchdowns and also rushed for 33 yards and two TDs.
Sophomore Simon Everhart caught two passes for 65 yards and two TDs while senior Noah Hastert caught six passes for 34 yards and a score and sophomore Evan Will caught three passes for 51 yards and a TD.
Sophomore Ian Brian led the Lions with 11 tackles while sophomore Noah Collins was in on 10 stops.
Cair Paravel will travel to Wichita Life Prep on friday.
HAYDEN 46, PERRY-LECOMPTON 18 -- Hayden improved to 6-1 on the season, avenging a playoff loss to Perry-Lecompton in 2020 with a 46-18 Class 3A district road win over the Kaws Friday night.
The Wildcats built a 19-6 halftime advantage, went in front 25-6 through three quarters and added three fourth-quarter scores while the 4-3 Kaws scored their final two touchdowns in the fourth, including a TD with 12 seconds remaining.
Senior Tyler Gilchrist scored Hayden's first touchdown on a pick six less than a minute into the game. Then, after a Perry-Lecompton touchdown, the Wildcats opened up a 19-6 halftime advantage on a rushing touchdown from senior Jack Chisham and a touchdown pass from senior Gavin Arnold to senior TL Thompson.
Hayden scored the only touchdown of the third quarter on a touchdown pass from Arnold to freshman Jensen Schrickel before the two teams comgined for 33 fourth-quarter points.
Junior Ethan Florence scored Hayden's final touchdown with 2:59 remaining to put the Wildcats in front 46-12 before the Kaws scored their late TD.
Hayden will host Bishop Ward on Friday night with a chance to wrap up the District 3 championship.

Manhattan bounced back from a loss to Washburn Rural to roll to a 59-0 Centennial League win over Topeka West at Hummer Sports Park.
The 6-1 Indians took a 16-0 first-quarter lead and went in front 37-0 at the half before adding 14 points in the third quarter and eight points in the fourth.
Indian senior Vinny Smith scored four touchdowns on his only four carries of the night, finishing with 95 rushing yards, while junior quarterback Keenan Schartz carried the ball five times for 126 yards.
Topeka West, which fell to 2-5, will play Topeka High Friday night at Hummer Sports Park.
