The 2024 girls All-City bowling team is a mix between some of the city's most experienced high school bowlers and two promising newcomers.

The All-City team, selected by city coaches, includes senior first-team repeaters Claire Ireland of Washburn Rural, Cheyenne Turkin of Seaman and Brenna Rutschmann and Megan Wood of Topeka West, while the six-member team is rounded out by Seaman freshman Paige Snyder and Washburn Rural freshman Megan Glinka.

Ireland, Turkin, Rutschmann and Wood all earned state individual medals during their high school careers and Snyder medaled in her first state meet as four of the six first-team picks earned state medals in the 2024 state meet.

Ireland and Glinka helped Washburn Rural finish second as a team in the Class 6A state tournament while Snyder and Turkin helped Seaman post a third-place finish in 5A.

All-City capsules:

MEGAN GLINKA, Washburn Rural -- Glinka earned first-team All-City honors as a freshman after helping Washburn Rural finish second as a team in the Class 6A state tournament. Glinka finished 11th in 6A regional competition (550 series) and 13th in the Centennial League tournament and shot a 536 in the city tournament and a 535 in the state tourney.

CLAIRE IRELAND, Washburn Rural -- A senior, Ireland posted a 14th-place finish in the 6A state tournament with a 594 series as the Junior Blues finished second as a team. Ireland earned a state medal for the second straight season, finishing 11th as a junior. Ireland finished sixth in the Centennial League tournament (518) and fifth in 6A regional competition (595) as Rural claimed the regional team title. Ireland shot a 520 in the city meet.

BRENNA RUTSCHMANN, Topeka West -- Rutschmann, a senior, earned a second straight state individual medal with a seventh-place state finish with a 580 three-game series after winning a 5A regional title with a 606 series and finishing 10th in the United Kansas Conference (533). Rutschmann posted an 18th-place state finish as a junior (556) series.

PAIGE SNYDER, Seaman -- Snyder burst on the city scene as a freshman, earning first-team All-City recognition after capping her season with a 19th-place finish in the 5A state tournament (542) and helping Seaman post a third-place team finish. Snyder captured individual titles in the city tournament with a 606 series and the United Kansas Conference with a 643 series. Snyder finished 13th in 5A regional competition (505).

CHEYENNE TURKIN, Seaman -- Turkin, a senior, helped Seaman post a third-place team finish at state for the second straight season, rolling a 533 series. Turkin finished second individually in the city tournament with a 591 series and also finished as the regional runnerup with a 571 and was third in the United Kansas Conference with a 594. Turkin placed 20th in the state tournament as a junior, rolling a 552 series. 

MeganWoodTWstate 2Megan Wood, Topeka West

MEGAN WOOD, Topeka West -- A senior, Wood capped her high school career with a sixth-place finish in the 5A state tournament, rolling a 584 three-game series. Wood finished fifth in the United Kansas Conference meet (567) and placed sixth in the city meet (541) and qualified for the state tournament as an individual (486).
