A junior tennis standout, Chedzoy won the singles championship in Saturday's Class 6A regional tournament at Wichita, topping Junction City's Hannah Micheel in the title match to help the Junior Blues win the team title. Now 19-8 on the season, Chedzoy finished second in the Centennial League tournament earlier in the week as Rural won the team championship, part of a city, league, regional title sweep.

JACKSON ESQUIBEL, Shawnee Heights

Esquibel, a senior cross country star, captured his first city individual title on Saturday at Kanza Park after finishing second as a junior. A two-time Class 5A state medalist in cross country and a state champion in track, Esquibel set a new personal record on Saturday with a five-kilometer time of 15 minutes, 16.7 seconds, winning by more than 13 seconds.

A junior foreign exchange student from Germany, Glasenapp completed a sweep of city, United Kansas Conference and Class 5A regional singles tennis championships. Glasenapp won the UKC title last Tuesday with an 8-2 win over Seaman's Emma Sweeney in the final and followed that up with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Sweeney in Saturday's regional tournament at Kossover Tennis Center.

Gorman, a sophomore tennis standout, teamed with senior Katie Krumins to win United Kansas Conference and Class 5A regional doubles championships last week, completing a sweep of city, UKC and regional titles. Gorman and Krumins won the UKC title with an 8-2 win over De Soto and topped their Viking teamates, Kate Eckert and Camryn Lux, 6-1, 6-1 in the regional final as Seaman won team titles in both events.

A senior tennis standout, Krumins teamed with sophomore Molly Gorman to win United Kansas Conference and Class 5A regional doubles championships last week, completing a sweep of city, UKC and regional titles. Krumins won the UKC title with an 8-2 win over De Soto and topped their Viking teamates, Kate Eckert and Camryn Lux, 6-1, 6-1 in the regional final as Seaman won team titles in both events.

RYIN MILLER, Seaman

Miller, a sophomore cross country star, won her first city individual championship in Saturday's meet at Kanza Park. Miller, who placed fifth in Class 5A as a freshman, clocked a personal-best five-kilometer time of 17 minutes, 24.3 seconds to win the city title, re-setting her Seaman school record and leading the Vikings to a second-place team finish.
