CONNER BUSH, Rossville
A 5-foot-11, 176-pound junior running back, Bush scored three touchdowns Friday night as Rossville advanced to the second round of the Class 1A football playoffs with a 47-13 win over Wabaunsee. Bush scored TDs on runs of 51, 9 and 25 yards as the Bulldawgs improved to 6-3 on the 2024 season while posting their sixth straight victory.
RYLEE ISMERT, Washburn Rural
Ismert, a senior cross country standout, earned her second straight Class 6A state medal in Saturday's state meet at Rim Rock Farm, posting a career-best third-place individual finish in a five-kilometer time of 18 minutes, 41.30 seconds as the Junior Blues tied Olathe West for the team championship, with the Owls winning their fifth straight state title on a tiebreaker. Ismert won Centennial League and regional titles this fall.
ADRIAN LEHMAN, Topeka West
The Topeka West senior cross country standout posted a Shawnee County-best boys finish of seventh place in Saturday's Class 5A state meet at Rim Rock Farm. Lehman, a two-time state qualifier in his only two seasons of high school cross country, clocked a five-kilometer time of 15 minutes, 49.59 seconds after qualifying for the state meet as an individual.
RYIN MILLER, Seaman
A junior cross country star, Miller earned her third straight state medal in Saturday's Class 5A state meet at Rim Rock Farm while posting a career-best second-place finish. Miller, who won city, United Kansas Conference and regional championships, clocked a five-kilometer time of 17 minutes, 26.36 seconds to finish as the individual runnerup to three-time state champ Katelyn Rupe of Salina Central.
MAEGAN MILLS, Seaman
Mills, a senior volleyball star, was named the United Kansas Conference offensive player of the year for the second straight season after helping lead the Vikings to a second straight conference championship. Mills helped Seaman post an overall record of 41-3 record over the 2024 season, capped by a runnerup finish in Saturday's Class 5A state tournament at the Tony's Pizza Events Center in Salina.
ELLIOT WRENCH, Hayden
Wrench, a senior cross country standout, posted a breakout sixth-place individual finish in Saturday's Class 4A state meet at Wamego Country Club after finishing 30th in 3A as a junior. Wrench, who qualified for state as an individual with a fourth-place reegional finish, clocked a five-kilometer time of 20 minutes, 11.94 seconds. Wrench placed sixth in the city meet and seventh in the Centennial League this fall.
