Orr, a 6-foot-8 senior, became the 28th member of the Washburn University men's basketball 1,000-point club with 10 points in Saturday's 71-57 MIAA road victory at Fort Hays State. Orr, who began the game with 999 career points, reached the milestone with a free throw with five minutes left in the first half. Orr was 4 of 6 from the field and 2 of 2 from the line as No. 3-ranked WU improved to 9-0 on the season.

Richardson, a former Highland Park star, made his indoor track and field debut for Washburn University in Saturday's Washburn Alumni Invitational in the Washburn Indoor Athletic Facility, posting a victory, a school record and an NCAA provisional time. Richardson won the long jump with a mark of 7.09 meters (23 feet, 03.25 inches) and he ran times of 6.73 seconds in both the preliminaries and finals of the 60-meter dash for an NCAA provisional mark and a school record. The previous school record was 6.80.
