Ballard, a 5-foot-11 senior, scored a career-high 22 points and grabbed seven rebounds while connecting on 6 of 9 3-pointers Friday night as Washburn Rural's boys improved to 4-1 with a 71-55 Friday non-league win over Kansas City, Mo.-Barstow in the Junior Blues' home-opener.

A 5-foot-11 senior, Becker reached the 1,000-point milestone for her career with a 20-point performance in last Tuesday's 81-11 United Kansas Conference girls win over Kansas City-Turner and followed that up with 18 points and four 3-pointers in Friday's 53-50 UKC win over De Soto for the 5-0 Vikings.
PEARMELLA CARTER, Highland Park
Carter, a 6-foot-2 sophomore, scored 52 points in two Highland Park wins on back-to-back nights last Thursday and Friday, scoring 30 points in a 76-18 home win over Kansas City-Turner and registering 22 points and 14 rebounds in a 57-39 Meadowlark Conference road win at KC-Wyandotte.
KK EMMOT, Shawnee Heights
Emmot, a 5-foot-8 sophomore, scored 27 points with seven 3-pointers in last Tuesday's 67-21 United Kansas Conference home win over Lansing and had 23 points on Friday as Shawnee Heights improved to 3-1 with a 57-40 road victory over Topeka West.
MILLIE RAMSEY, Hayden
A 6-foot senior, Ramsey reached the 1,000-point scoring milestone for her high school career on Saturday, scoring 13 points as Hayden posted a 56-37 win over reigning Class 6A state champion Shawnee Mission South in the Varsity 810 Showcase at Shawnee Mission Northwest.

Sanchez, a 6-foot-6 senior, had 40 points on the week as Shawnee Heights posted a pair of United Kansas Conference wins to improve to 3-1. Sanchez scored 15 points with two 3-pointers in a 66-24 Tuesday home win over Lansing and had 25 points and four 3s in a 74-45 Friday road win at Topeka West.
