Shawnee Heights picked up its first win of the year on Tuesday, rolling to a 54-32 United Kansas Conference victory over Piper, while Topeka West is coming off a 60-26 UKC loss at Seaman. Senior Taylor Rottinghaus paced Shawnee Heights with a career-high 18 points against Piper while senior Emari Doby was right behind with 16 points for the T-Birds. Senior Azaryah Duncan scored seven points to pace Topeka West against Seaman, but no other Chargers scored more than four points.

HAYDEN (1-0) vs. EMPORIA (2-0)

At Emporia Paul Terry Classic

Hayden rallied from a 19-point deficit to take a 60-54 overtime win over Spring Hill on Thursday in the opening round of the Paul Terry Classic at Emporia. Junior Lauren Sandstrom led the Wildcats with a game-high 25 points, including eight points in overtime, while sophomore Brylee Meier added 19 points and 10 rebounds. Emporia cruised to a 63-32 win over Wichita Trinity on Thursday as Rebecca Snyder scored 20 points. Friday's game between Centennial League rivals Hayden and Emporia is set for a 6:30 p.m. tipoff.

SEAMAN (2-0) at SAVANNAH, MO. (0-4)

Seaman, ranked No. 3 in Class 5A by the Kansas Basketball Coaches Association, improved to 2-0 with a 60-26 United Kansas Conference romp past Topeka West on Tuesday. Freshman Maddie Gragg led the Vikings with a game-high 16 points while sophomore Anna Becker added 14 points and Brooklyn Gormley 10 while four Seaman players had at least five rebounds. Seaman will travel to Savannah, Mo. on Friday.

SILVER LAKE (2-0, 0-0) at RILEY COUNTY (2-0, 0-0)

Silver Lake rolled to its second victory of the season, taking a 50-point decision over Council Grove on Tuesday, 73-23. The Eagles, currently ranked No. 2 in the Kansas Basketball Coaches Association 3A state rankings, will open Mid-East League play against Riley County. The Falcons are coming off a 34-9 non-league win over Concordia to improve to 2-0 on the season.

ROSSVILLE (2-0) vs. SACRED HEART (0-2)

At Chapman Irish Classic

Rossville pitched a first-half shutout on the way to a 58-7 rout over Kansas City-Bishop Ward in the opening round of the Irish Classic Tuesday night at Rossville. The 2-0 Lady Bulldawgs went up 29-0 at the end of the first quarter and outscored the Cyclones 20-0 in the second quarter for a 49-0 halftime advantage. Junior Emma Mitchell led Rossville with 16 points, followed by sophomore Shyanne Haehn with 11 points and freshman Rylee Dick with nine points, including a pair of 3-pointers. Sacred Heart is coming off a 54-45 loss to Chapman in the opening round of the Irish Classic.
