Silver Lake baseball and softball both advanced to the Class 3A state semifinals without allowing a run in Monday's quarterfinal victories.

No. 8-seeded Eagle baseball, now 17-11, advanced with a 1-0 shutout over top seed Council Grove at Emporia's Trusler Sports Complex while No. 3 seed Silver Lake softball rolled to a 10-0 win over No. 6 Colby in Salina, improving to 26-4.
Silver Lake baseball advanced to a state semifinal matchup against No. 4 Russell (23-5) at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at Kansas State's Tointon Family Stadium. Russell advanced with a 3-0 win over Colby.
The Silver Lake-Russell winner will play for the 3A championship at 4 p.m. Friday at Tointon Family Stadium.
Silver Lake softball, the state runnerup the past two seasons, moved on to a 1 p.m. semifinal matchup with No. 2 seed Haven (28-2) Wednesday at the University of Kansas' Arrocha Ballpark. Haven took an 8-4 quarterfinal win over No. 7 Baxter Springs.
The 3A state title game is set for 1 p.m. Friday at Arrocha.
Bulldawg baseball routs Marmaton Valley, 10-0
No. 4 seed Rossville baseball rolled to the Class 2A-1A state semifinals with a 10-0 five-inning rout over No. 5 Marmaton Valley Monday at the Blue Valley Sports Complex.
The 24-4 Bulldawgs will now face top seed Thomas More Prep-Marian at 11 a.m. Wednesday in a state semifinal at Kansas State's Tointon Family Stadium. TMP-Marian advanced with a 10-0 win over Humboldt.
The 2A-1A state championship game is scheduled for 6:40 p.m. Friday at Tointon Family Stadium.
