The Vikings scored a goal in each half on Monday en route to improving to 4-5 on the season while Hayden fell to 0-8.
"We've been a little up and down and just had a lot of tough opponents we've been up against,'' Seaman coach Ty Hurla said. "We've dealt with some injuries and it's just been one of those years that we've dealt with that, so it's just been an up and down roller-coaster season for us.''
Seaman came up empty on some early scoring opportunities, but got the only goal it would need at the 14:59 mark of the opening half when junior Oscar Serrano found the back of the net off an assist from junior David Budge.
Budge then scored a big insurance goal with 9:41 remaining in the game to account for the final margin.
Sophomore Brady Jowers picked up the shutout in goal for the Vikings.
"They know players over on that side so it's one of those games they definitely want to be up for and come out and compete,'' Hurla said.
And Hurla was pleased overall with his Vikings' performance.
"Any time you can get a shutout and two goals in the game, we'll take that any time we can get it,'' he said. "It's definitely a different playing surface (grass) for us, but we're alright with that.''
Both Seaman and Hayden will be back in action Tuesday, with the Vikings hosting Leavenworth in a United Kansas Conference contest while Hayden will be on the road at Ottawa for a non-league tilt.
