Bricelyn Betts scored the only goal the Ichabods (6-1-1 overall, 2-0 MIAA) would need in the 22nd minute off a rebounded shot from Avery McCorry, giving Washburn an early 1-0 lead.

Following a yellow card from Missouri Western's Jaida Douch, Presslee Amick sent a pass to Sam Searcey, who connected on her second goal of the season in the 28th minute.

Washburn held on the rest of the way, only allowing three shots in the second half, all of which were on goal.

Chaleigh Depner and Marielle Wright each recorded a shot on goal in the final three minutes for the Griffons (4-1-4) but were unable to connect.

Washburn out-shot Missouri Western 15-5, including 4-3 on goal.

Washburn has won six out of its last seven matches against Missouri Western.

The Ichabods notched their fifth shutout of the season on Friday against MWSU, with Lili Everley gong all 90 minutes in goal for Washburn.

Washburn will hosts Northwest Missouri Missouri State on Sunday in Yager Stadium at 1 p.m.
