Heim, a former Washburn Rural star, finished the game with 12 total tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, a sack, a forced fumble and the game-sealing interception.

Late in the first half, UCO had the ball inside the Ichabod one and the Bronchos ran five plays without scoring a touchdown, settling for a field goal, while Heim collected four tackles on the drive.

In the fourth quarter with 1:54 to go, Heim's breakup on a fourth-down UCO pass play returned possession to the Ichabods at the UCO 48.

After an Ichabod punt, UCO took possession with 1:30, but Heim picked off a UCO pass at the WU 40 to seal the win for Washburn.

His forced fumble came at the WU 24 after a sack and fumble returned the ball back to the Ichabods at the WU 38.

Washburn is back in action Saturday at Nebraska-Kearney with a 1 p.m. start.
