Washburn Rural sophomore cross country standout Alyson Hinck and Rossville junior football standout Landen Lewis have been selected as the Brandon Aldridge State Fram Insurance Agency Rising Stars of the Week.
The Brandon Aldridge Agency will recognize top Shawnee County underclassmen throughout the 2026-2027 school year.
Here's a brief look at last week's accomplishments of Hinck and Lewis.

Hinck opened her sophomore cross country season with a fourth-place individual finish in last Saturday's 11-school Manhattan Invitational at Warner Park.
Hinck clocked a five-kilometer time of 20 minutes, 18.6 seconds while leading the Junior Blues to a second-place team finish behind host Manhattan (28-54).
Hinck was a first-team All-Shawnee County pick last fall as a freshman after finishing second in the city meet for the team-champion Junior Blues and placed sixth in the Centennial League, eighth in Class 6A regional competition and a team-high 25th in the state meet. Hinck was also a first-team all-county pick in track, placing fifth in the 6A 800 meters.
LANDEN LEWIS, Rossville
Lewis, a junior who was making his first career start at quarterback, scored all five of Rossville's touchdowns in last Friday's 35-14 season-opening home Big East League victory over Perry-Lecompton.
Lewis scored on runs of 11, 3, 6, 22 and 8 yards as the Bulldawgs pulled away for the decisive victory after trailing twice in the early going. Lewis' three first-half touchdowns helped Rossville open up a 21-14 lead at the break before adding his final two TDs in the third quarter.
Lewis received All-Shawnee County honorable mention last fall as the Bulldawgs went 11-2 and finished second in Class 1A and he won the 2A state title in the javelin in track and field last spring.
