Five Shawnee County golfers advanced to Wednesday's final round of state competition, including four players in the Class 2A tournament at Quail Creek in Winfield.

Cair Paravel Latin senior Caleb Cleverdon shot an opening-round one-over-par 73 and sits in second entering Wednesday's second round while Rossville senior Jack Donovon is tied for eighth individually after a first-round 79.
CPLS, was just two strokes away from advancing as a team, also qualified Chase Hastert, who is tied for 23rd with an 85, while Rossville's Austin Dohrman also qualified for the final round with an 89, which is tied for 37th place.
Washburn Rural senior Higgins Hawks advanced to the final round in 6A at Firekeeper Golf Course, tying for 25th on Monday with a first-round 76.
