Seaman freshman volleyball standout Kamryn Carlson and Topeka West junior football star Nas Williams-Brown have been selected as the Brandon Aldridge State Farm Insurance Agency Rising Stars of the Week.

The Brandon Aldridge Agency will recognize top Shawnee County underclassmen throughout the 2026-2027 school year.

Here's a brief look at last week's accomplishments of Carlson and Williams-Brown.

A 6-foot-1 outside/rightside hitter, Carlson has already established herself as one of the city's top players in just a few matches of her high school career.

Carlson helped lead young Vikings, who have just one senior on their varsity roster, to a fourth-place finish in Saturday's Seaman Invitational, which included multiple state-ranked teams.

Carlson was named to the All-Tournament team at the conclusion of the tournament.

The running back turned in a monster game last Thursday night, rushing for 317 yards and five touchdowns on 18 carries, powering Topeka West to a 58-40 United Kansas Conference win over Shawnee Heights.

A returning All-United Kansas Conference selection, Williams-Brown scored on runs of 2, 7, 50, 62 and 94 yards and also caught five passes for 39 yards against the T-Birds.

Williams led the Chargers to their first win over Shawnee Heights since 2005.
